Custom Exhaust Help

Hey, i been researching alot, but i cannot find any information about a quiet custom exhaust. i have a 2005 i4 honda accord coupe and want to have a custom exhaust. i really like the greedy evo2 style exhaust, but it cost too much. My question is that how can i make it quiet? i will keep the cat. and should i use the stock resonator or just buy a new one? i also want to get this muffler( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-E...Q5fAccessories )Please give me some advices on what i have to do. thanks.

First off do some research.

I'm going to be perfectly honest and say I love how the Greddy Evo's sound on our cars, however, the big tip and canister is way too eye catching. I really don't want to be hassled by the cops.

For a resonator, check out Vibrant resonators. Many recommend them and they are fairly cheap.

Thank, should i use my stock resonator and add on the vibrant resonators to keep the noise down?

Personal opinion but if you are upgrading your muffler, I'd recommend you get an aftermarket resonator. I hear the ultra quiet vibrant resonators keeps the noise (droning) down.

OBX makes decent mufflers, look into other styles though imo.

No that should be a pretty good setup. From what I hear, the ultra quiet resonators are good for reducing drone.

You need a resonator to quiet down the exhaust plain and simple. That's their job.

i know they are helping me and i appreciate it. But all they told me is to use a resonator. and im asking which one should i choose but no one answer me back. Magnaflow is a bit cheaper than vibrant.

I don't get what part you are having difficulties with. The word CUSTOM should say it all for you, make it your own, try it out. If all else fails, just sell it online and buy another, many change mufflers to get the tone they want.

In terms of resonators, they all do the same thing (obviously). Go with magnaflow or vibrant, whatever works for you man. I'd personally go for the vibrant, gotta represent a local company.

get 3 inch piping as high and as far back as you can....make sure it is mandrel bent...make sure you have no cats....and make sure you get two - 3 inch vibrant ultra quiet resonators and finish it off with any muffler of your choice...the vibrants will quiet it down enuf for you and you should be plenty happy with the power increase oh and that might cost 450-550 buks

i would use a vibrant, the only tme i'd use a magnaflow is if I needed a 3" resonator as vibrant doesn't make a 3"

NA i would go 2.25 with either vibrant or thrush resontors. if you go thrush you can just pick one up a a local napa for $47 and it is even better then vibrant. and for the muffler/s i would either go with magnaflow or cherrybomb. i know cherry bomb is supposed to be for muscle cars but i have heared it on a 4 cylinder and it sounded amazing and not loud at all. it was like a nice low roar. but you absolutly need one or 2 resonators on any set up to make it quiet. right now i have 2 10 inch resonators and quad resonated tips and its to loud so i got a thrush muffler that is actually a resonator and it is so so nice!!!! but i am a v6 if you want to get super chaep with the entire set up and have it work just fine and all everyone will hate me saying it but get ebay stainless steel cat back for the piping should be like between 100-200 dollars, a nice resonator like magnaflow, thrush, vibrant, from 45-150$, and a second muffler or resonated tips 100-200. all and all the most you will spend is 400 if you do it at a cost effective way. however that is not including work to piece it together! add an extra 200 for work easily depending on the shop.

if i take the cat out and run a 2.25 inch straight pipe with vibrant resonator, will i have drone on highway speed? or leave the cat on and just run 2.25 inch pipe from cat to the muffler without a resonator?? do i really have to get a resonator? kinda in a budget. thanks for helping me.
