Intake help

Ok im planning on putting an intake system for my 4dr v6 06 accord. Where should I buy one from?
I'm reading on google that it can void the warranty of the car?

What's shortram?
What does it do exactly? One of my friends has it in his car and I think there's a nice sound when u accelerate.

I also found this on k2motors 03-07 Honda Accord 4Cyl Cold Air Intake w/ Filter by K2Motor - Free Shipping

Is it also easy to install

if you found on google that it can void the warranty how come you didnt find any other intakes?
Yes it will void your ENGINE warranty. IF your speaker blows they will still replace that so dont worry but engine problems they might not. Short ram intake sit in the engine bay. Cold air is behind the bumper, it draws in cold air from down by the road. If I were you I would look into AEM, injen, or look for tsx intakes (04-08) they are the same fit for the most part.

oh and dont get that k2 intake, it is probably a cheap piece of sh*t

Short ram is an intake which sucks it's air from the engine bay area. Mean while a cold air intake, sucks it air away from the engine bay area heat. Now the reputable brands u asked are aem, kn, injen. But the most dyno proven intake is called an Aem V2. Google it, u won't regret it. Makes the best sound and the most power.

If I'm not mistaken And If I'm remembering correctly there is an act that states a dealership cannot terminate your warranty unless they can prove your modification led to the problem.

You could try building your own with parts from Kragen or whatever parts store you have around. Thats what my friend did.

That eBay intake will void ur warranty before a c.a.r.b.approved name brand intake any-day, but regardless they both will. U will get no gains from that ebay intake whatsoever. U'll most likely lose hp coming from the stock airbox which actually draws cold air. J30 motors love cold air. Bottom line is..:.whichever intake u choose to get, if u ever have a prob just re-install stock air box before going dealership.

it would be a pain if you have to keep removing the intake when going to the dealer each time. Even for oil change?

i also found this cold air intake from the same company, would it be harder to install

I have a Fujita F5 CAI on my 3.0 V6. I love it. It's very quiet unless you're on the throttle, then it sounds aggressive. Only problem is, no C.A.R.B. sticker...yet, but I heard Fujita is in the process of C.A.R.B. approval.

If you're worried about constantly removing and reinstalling the factory intake, air box, resonator, etc. You can always get the K&N filter. Higher flowing filter improves things, slightly, but the resonator, etc. are still a bit more restrictive than a straight CAI or SRI.

Anyway, just my $0.02 on the CAI topic.

Oh, also, make sure you get a bypass valve as a safety precaution against hydrolock. Granted, you shouldn't be fording through puddles in your Accord, but the extra piece of mind is good, and a $30-40 bypass is cheaper than rebuilding or replacing an engine.

i have the K&N Intake. It has the option to be a short ram, or a cold air. Its also c.a.r.b. approved.
