Cylinder Head CFM Questions...

Okay guys I have some serious cylinder head questions.....

1)Has anyone fitted and ran a j35a8 or j35a7 cylinder head on a J30a4 or J30a5 or J32a3?

2)What is the most cfm increase you can achieve PnPing a stock j30a4 or j30a5 cylinder head?

3)Has anyone use oversized intake valves...or bigger undercut intake valves?I plan to run oversized exhaust valves...

4)Has anyone knife-edged their crankshaft?

Thanks for any input guys...I am planning on a T.belt change this winter and wanted to swap heads while I was at it....

The cylinder heads are practically identical. You are good swapping out the cam shafts, valvetrain, and port match the intake and exhaust. Don't overdue it..

No one here has ever flowbenched a J-series head after PNP. That's the biggest problem. Everyone here does porting work without a flowbench. For all we know, some guys overdue it and lose power.

I have bigger exhaust valves. It's stupid to run oversize intake valves if you can't get the exhaust gases out first. Too much intake, too little exhaust=bottlenecking + detrimental to engine. A smart idea is to start with the exhaust size first. I know many guys here will say otherwise, but it's all hear say.
I made over 330whp on pump gas, with just the exhaust side ported. I'll be doing a intake mani, bigger tb, and cams + a retune. My goal is to see 400whp N/A.

4)Has anyone knife-edged their crankshaft?
I had it machined and the entire engine assembly balanced. I think I'm the only one with a built J-series.

Over on J32a.com, one guy is getting stock J32a2 heads flowbenched. Not only that, he is apparently getting them flowbenched after a PnP as well. He is also testing J32a3 heads, and I'm not sure if any others.

From the looks of it, this guy has before and after, however his PnP isn't as aggressive as you might get?

Wake up!

Bringing this back because head porting is a hot topic recently. I've had a question for quite some time now about head porting. We have a 10:1 CR from the factory. Would it be more beneficial for the full bolt on guys to get the stock heads ported, or to keep the stock heads and go with some Bisi cams? And with that answer, any reason why?

No Accord that I know of has even installed cams, let alone dyno'd them, and Atlas is the only one to my knowledge that has dyno'd before & after ported heads. Atlas also had a slipping clutch. The AFRs weren't great because it was untuned, but pretty much all of us are untuned at this point.

I wish Paul had his own thread/page with prices for his work. I think that would decrease the amount of PM volume he receives, and give us all a base to choose from and plan accordingly. Of course, he is only one man, but I think it would be a win-win for everyone. With that said, carry on...

My heads were milled too.. so my compression is ~ 11:1. Also have the 3.5 TL-S cams and springs.
