flowmaster 40 Series

I am looking to get 2 of the flowmaster 40 Series mufflers with 2.5in piping from the cat back. I heard a few video clips and it sounds awesome its a deep tone..
should i put a resonator in or no? and are they decent mufflers?

Its gonna have a deep tone so are you deleting the 3rd cat because the exhaust pipe comming out of it is 2 1/4 and if you delete the third cat the exit of the j pipe is 2.5 inches I wouldnt get a rezonator Untill you hear what it sounds like with out one

The stock j pipe exit is 2.5 inches aswell so if you delete the third cat you will get more power...i also have a j pipe and 3rd cat delete resonator combo forsale in the classified section...

The Richie's J-pipe deletes the 3rd cat if i remember correct.

And if i cut the third cat off i will need a test pipe right? or can i just run the pipe right from the J-pipe to the mufflers?

Get a resonator! I only have the 4banger, but I have the DC sport header, 2.5" piping all the way through, hi-flo cat 18" vibrant resonator, into the Flowmaster 40 series muffler and then I had to add a Dynomax resonator tip to try and cancel some more sound. It's loud invest in resonators, my .02

The newest version does delete the third cat but this is the original one so it does not and
Since he dosent have the pcds aka headers for the v6 his car wont be too loud

I would do no resonator - I have that set up with v3 j pipe and threw on a large magnaflow muffler to eliminate cabin drone and any rasp that might occur from future mods (maybe pcds)

It probably will be loud but if you get a resonator it shouldnt be too bad because you have 2 mufflers I have pcds custom j pipe and then 3 inch to a 30 inch long reso and 1 flowmaster muffler and it has no rasp and its not too loud

I was saying that set up becasue i saw this video [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WREH5nj3OMs&feature=fvsr]2007 Accord V6 Custom Flowmaster 40 Series Exhaust - YouTube[/ame]
and it says he went from the cat to the mufflers so assuming that its just the piping from the cats to the mufflers

Nice job they did keeping the exhaust pipes straight!

It's not only the noise level with these mufflers that Im trying to warn you about it's also the drone, and by adding a resonator you can help lessen both, hell mine was so loud without a resonator, I put 2, a vibrant 18" after the cat and a Dynomax resonator tip just to cut it down a bit

The mid mufflers might be enough to muffle the sound, resonators are pretty cheap though. The only way to be sure is to try and see if it's too loud for you.
