Type s LSD swaped into accord

Does anyone have any information if we can swap the LSD differential part from the type s into our tranny for the accord?

last time i checked the part numbers, all Honda LSD's will interchange with any honda. I can double check but i did notice that when i cross referenced a few part numbers. As always ignore the Three letters in the middle of the part numbers as they are chassis code. So basically all B-series, K-series, J-series LSD's should interchange based on the part numbers and information provided below.

Civic Si 2006 LSD part number
Cart Contents Honda Parts at HondaPartsDeals.com: Honda Accessory, Honda Car Parts, Honda Auto Parts, Honda Accord Parts

2004 Acura TL 6-speed LSD part number

Acura Parts @ AcuraAutomotiveParts.org - Genuine Acura OEM Parts from Acura Carland

2001 Acura integra Type R LSD

Acura Parts @ AcuraAutomotiveParts.org - Genuine Acura OEM Parts from Acura Carland

interesting! with that being said, i imagine an aftermarket B or K series LSD could be made to fit and work in the J tranny.

OBX LSD HELICAL 90-97 ACCORD DX EX LX SE DIFFERENTIAL | eBay

i know its a junky LSD, but it says it fits older accords AND 1999-2003 TL J32.

are the axle part numbers the same for the 98-02 accord, 99-03 tl and the 03-07 accord?

at least get a k-series lsd.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

and do the mod that the guy did to it so that it wouldn't crap out.

But I would still go with a better brand. like Wavetrac or Quaife. Pay more up front so that it doesn't cause issues later on.

by the part numbers this tells me that the LSD core unit is the same for all Honda LSD's. The ring gears and possibly the bearings are the things that are different and special to each type of transmission. In theory all the internals of the LSD units are the same so also in theory the inner portion of all the axles should be able to fit into all the LSD units. So basically every Honda inner CV axle goes into every Honda LSD core unit. At least thats what i gather from the part numbers being the same for all LSD's.

the guy on the kseries forum said he had to machine a face off a part, and shim the ring gear to fit. he also said the axle would fit, but the c-clip was not in the correct area, so he made frankenstein axles to work.

i say the H22 LSD is probably the best bet. judging by the link i provided, it sounds like H series LSD will be a direct install, and since it makes simular power to our J motor it should hold up just fine.

The reason I ask Im recently experiencing my second gear popping out. Sucks ya. So when I rebuild it at work I figured LSD swapped might as well be done. Any ideas how to prolong the situation for a bit? A guy told me to put synchromesh in it?

synchoromesh helps a lot. I personally use amsoil. I used redline before and it was good until the temp dropped. Then I couldn't even get into gear at all.

straight mesh. The honda fluid is ghetto. Its the one causing the gears to pop out.

Wut LSD did u buy? From where? Also got a ? When u put ur car in second gear how much side to side play do u have? I have more play then I do in any other gear. Just trying figure out if maybe my issue is from the actual shifter part.

acura TL 04-08 base LSD. I think it was from oemacuraparts. I bought it almost a year ago when it was cheaper. Now its about 100 more. I have an accord v6 06 6mt. Look at my build tread bro. I have several. IE water meth, port and polish runners, port and polish IM and tb, and etc.

I have very little to non side to side play. I have shifter bushing and a comptech shortshifter. So that might be why.

lol I couldn't find one that was in good condition, and I need to keep my vin # on it. CA is a ***** bro. I am debating if I want to do CM stage 3 or go oem clutch again. I have no issue with the OEM stuff.

if I could I would, but if I buy a used TL tranney who know what the condition it would be in. So I rather rebuild what I have knowing that its going to last me another 100K+

The main reason I want the CM kit is the LWFW. It shaves 15 or 20 lb off the assembly. This is a lot more reduction of rotation mass then the UR pulley that I have. Its also cheaper in the long run when I need to do a clutch job. I would only need to change out the friction ring, clutch, and pressure plate. But then again, I read that there have been a lot of issues with the CM kit and the pedal position being inconsistance.

I plan to keep this car until its dies.
