Got my V2

Well I got my AEM V2 in the mail, but Fedex decided that throwing boxes at walls must be fun:

*sigh*

It's not that it would even be that hard to bend back, it's that Fedex manages to damage something that's encased in styrofoam peanuts and that I shouldn't have to bend back a brand new product.

Ouch! For all the money you spent, I'd surely want to get a brand new one rather than trying to bend it back. Especially being that it's an intake and a dent like that will restrict air flow (defeating the whole purpose of it) even you bend it back as best as you can. I hope you insured it with FedEx, or you bought it from an understanding company. Otherwise, you're sol

Yep, it's insured. Now if they are willing to give me what I paid for it, I'll go get it bent somewhere and keep the difference

Fed-EX... UPS... I'm a warehouse shipping & receiving supervisor and you wouldn't believe how these companies treat your packages. Everytime I get a private shippment to my house the packaging is all ate up and I end up taking pics of the package with my digital before opening the box up.

BTW... I got my AEM V2 cai installed the other day from RPMmotoring.com ($248 shipped).

The V2 is simply amazing! Power & sound!

U think I could do a replica of the intake with some tubes and weld them together or should I buy it?

Uhh, I'd buy it. That's what you're paying for- the research they did!

I don't think it'd be too easy to replicate, though I could be completely wrong.

I got mine two days ago from RPMmotoring.com. Box was a little beat up. But the intake looked fine. Now I just wish my car was here already so I could install it. My car was just built the 31st. So only two more weeks to go

Damn, yours too, Captal? Mine came with similar damage when I recieved it back in September I didn't want to screw with UPS so I fixed it myself.

It seems like a lot of people are getting damaged V2s and I think AEM's poor packaging has something to do with it. They need to put it in a bigger box so that the ends of the intake aren't anywhere near one of the sides or corners of the box. Maybe they're getting damaged in AEM's warehouse just by being stacked on top of one another?

once, I ordered some computer stuff and had it shipped thru fedex. The online store's warehouse is just 25 miles away from my house. Fedex decides to send it to new york first and then back to my house.

They are not suppossed to be bent.

What did you guys use to bend it back?

There is a problem with just installing it as is- that bend will interrupt air flow which means less horsepower- it may not be much but I'll take everything I can get!

If you look closer (you can tell because of the bracket next to his hand, mine is on the other end) TH23's damage is at the other end of the pipe- mine is at the portion next to the engine.

Don't fix it urself. Tell em to give u another one. It's a new product, not used. I know ur probably anxious to use it, but it's better that it came in perfect conditions. Regret sucks so eliminate it!

Well FedEx is coming to pick it up tomorrow and do a "damage assessment" on it.

Is that the part where they figure out that they shouldn't throw boxes at walls?

I hope they don't say that this isn't there fault cause the box is beat pretty bad and there's a slash mark where it looks like the edge of the pipe hit the side of the box.

Hey Rob,

i haven't read all the posts but i just responded to the email. Don't send it back to the address label though. Wait until everything is okay in terms of fedex and their "damage assessment" don't worry. You will get a new one, but we just have to follow their procedures on how to get the money from insurance.

lol i guess that "it looks like it's in perfect condition!" ended up not to be.

Just a note for anyone receiving shipments.....check the package before you sign for it. Thats what insurance is for. =) and trying to fix something that should be new should not happen. It is new so you should get a new product. If fedex decides to bang it up, let them deal with it. Don't settle for a damaged product

Actually when I looked again there was! It had exploded all over the intake!

Just kidding, that's funny though

Lol now you seem pissed. See, text is poor medium for communication.

For sarcasm in that case I'd have said:
