V6 supercharger and headers

Just wondering if anyone knows of any companies developing a supercharger for V6 automatics. I called comptech to ask them if they'd be developing a supercharger and they said only for the 6spd accords. I also asked if theyd be making any headers and they said no because our headers are part of the cylinder head. I checked out the parts catalog and could see what they meant. I would attach screen shots from the parts catalog but cant figure it out.

I dont think so. I actually called to offer them my car for the development of one but they said they had a 6spd already. Id think that if they developed a supercharger for the 6spd it would fit on the auto as well but I dunno that much about cars to really know.

You mean the auto accord? Because AV6 means Accord V6
And no, he just stated they are only making it for the 6sp, but that means it will adapt to the auto extremley easly. Maybe a mount or two needs to be changed or somthing.

I dont see why they can't just make it to fit both .. are the AV6 and MT engine bays all that different?

I would hope they would fit for both but looking at the parts catalog the intake manifolds are different for the auto and MT. The part number for auto is 17100-RCA-A50 and the MT part number is 17030-RCA-A01.

That's only some internal parts that differ. I can see no reason why a s/c for a 6-speed will not physically fit on an automatic. My guess is that the two kits would need different calibrations and computer changes, and Comptech has decided that the extra cost of developing a kit correctly calibrated for the automatic isn't worthwhile. Maybe if they sell tons of kits for the 6-speed an automatic kit will follow.

Superchager mounts up to the throttle body to push air in so the intake shouldn't matter. It might have to do with how much room the auto takes up compared to the manual.

Comptech's SC for the NSX is a positive displacement style - the kind that replaces the regular intake manifold, like the old school B&M 6-71 (only smaller) -- in that case, it would matter, but who knows if that's the style they'd make for our cars.

Regardless, it still shouldn't matter on our cars - the auto and MT are the same from the manifold down, so the fact that the manifold is different should have no bearing on it if the SC is replacing said manifold anyway.
