Magnaflow Exhaust System Installed (pics)

I decided to go with a custom Magnaflow setup since it was cheaper and I didnt want polished mufflers (im painting them black). So here is what I got.

(Catalytic Already Removed)
2.5" Catback piping
2.25" Piping After the "Y" Split
(2) 2.25" Magnaflow Mufflers
(2) Mercedes Benz Style Tips (Oval to fill up the cutout)
(1) 12" Thrush Tube Resonator

All for a grand total of $300 Bucks! (Thanks for the hook up Kev)

Anyways, I didnt really notice too much of a loss in low end torque but mid to high end thats another story. I had the whole LA to San Diego drive to feel it out and let's just say DAMN!!

Soundwise it has a Deep, mellow tone, but very throaty like. I know this is gonna be a bad analogy, but if you remember how the Supra Sounded like in Fast and the Furious, its exactly like that! Low rpms the exhaust is very noticeable but at high rpms, it mellows out. Not at all annoying or loud. Just right.

Im also barrowing my friends Video Camera so Ill have a sound clip shortly.

congrats man! boy the magnaflow army is gaining numbers. I personally noticed a huge gain in low-mid range torque. High end had a gain too, but low-mid range was quite surprising. I think you too will notice a gain in low end if you get a full CAI system.

modfreak1: I didnt get a chance to really experience Low end because I was on the freeway most of the time and I needed to get home quick. Ill be observing it tonight though for sure so Ill let you know. But remember, I have no catalytic so that may be a factor of my top end being such a signifcant difference.

dboy619, I got it done in LA since they were about 150 bucks cheaper than the places here in SD. But when I need stuff done, I go to Discount Muffler on El Cajon.

Thanks! The shop did a superb job! It took him 2 hours to do it with many measuring tools to make sure everything was straight and lined up.

The shop is called KING MUFFLER in Burbank. My friend is a personal friend of the owner. I wanted to go for the somewhat stock/Classy look which is why I chose those style tips. But the sound that emits from them is sweet!

Make sure you piping is stainless steel. I used galvanized steel the first time around with a coat of high temp paint to prevent rusting, but it only lasted for 3 years then the jank fell off. Then again I had to deal with all the snow and salt on the road around here.

Yes, mine set off car alarms because it is deeper than usual (no catalytic).

And as far as "you get what you pay for", to ME ALL mufflers do the same job. So regarding comptech, magnaflow and borla, to me its all the same thing. Im not expecting these mufflers to last the life of the car because Ill only be keeping this car for 2-3 years if that.

2003 Accord V6 , did you have some type of negative experience with Magnaflows? Mine were priced right, sound great and the car runs awesome with the exhaust more opened up. Just curious.
