AEM V2 cold air for av6

I currently have an AV6 coupe and am deciding whether to get the aem v2 cold air intake. I've heard many stories about ppl getting their engines messed up because of water getting into the intakes. My question to anyone with a cold air intake on this car is.. in what situtation does water get there? Does it have to be POURING with rain outside? And can you go through a car wash? I live in california where theres barely any rain...but ive heard some ppl here getting their engines messed up. I dunno, can anyone give me some info on cold air intakes?

I have Injen cold air (filter is positioned same as AEM V1&2) and drove 100 miles last night in pouring hard rain on the freeway. Tons of cars kicked water at me directly at my filter too, and took it fine. Many people are scared of this, just understand you ONLY have to worry if your stuck in a 5 ft puddle for more than 2 seconds. My car got stuck in a puddle before, the car just stalled, and started up again and apparently when we recently did an overhaul on my motor nothing was damaged. I guess these new technolgical cars take care of themselves
