issue with rear MDX camshaft

So after rechecking my TL-S cylinder head I notice that the MDX camshaft does not sit flush in the journal and the sprocket rubs against the bolts sometimes.

I was wondering if anyone had this issue while doing the MDX camshaft?

The front camshaft banks fit no problem. It could be an isolated issue with my camshaft, unless it happen to someone else.

Sorry to hear this. Is the cam fully seated to one side ? The first photos also looks like the rocker is angle and not the cam, may be the photo. Did you try flipping or reversing how they are installed ?

Its not reversed I checked. Also swap the camshaft and the other one doesn't fit. The front camshaft fits like a glove.

Its hitting something metal, so it can't be the camshaft seals either.

being 1/8in off causes the sprocket to rub against the bolts behind it.

There no play in the camshaft either.

I swap the camshaft arm and it look like it help, but now I need to make sure the vtec mechanism is facing the right direction.

using a *HONDA manual*

Does your stock cam fit? If so, has anyone else with the tls heads put in mdx cams? If not maybe there is something different between the two that allows it to work on one and not the other?

I don't have stock camshaft anymore. Either there is a clearance issue because of the design or my camshaft is F'd. Luke I said it's just the rear . The front doesn't have any issue

I'll have to see if I still have my stock cams around or if I tossed them. Pretty sure I did...

Anyone willing to loan him a set of stockers to see if it's a head or cam issue?

Not as bad as that finger probably does. Smashed my hand quite a few times moving the heads around for porting and storage, those edges are sharp.

70-30 of rum and coke will do it for me, guess my 21 is showing since it isn't scotch or brandy or something.

Coke and henny on a good night. XX cuz I don't always drink beer,b it when I do I would like to finish it.lol

I am going to measure the bearings, looking at the camshaft again it looks like those area never touch the journsls. They have different wear patterns.

Note to self never buy used camshaft again

... It isn't?
Two conscious shots later and I wake up in bed next to a girl I have never met. And I hold my liquor well.

Going to need to try that mix though.

Also i'm still wondering how in the hell you even damage a camshaft. I can't imagine they would bend without snapping, and they should have the damn part numbers printed on there. Oil should prevent any excessive amount of wear on any part.

That mix is dangerous and its one that i came up with in college. My room mate started the mixing of Everclear and Jack. Sh!t we started pre mixing bottles and labeling them EverJack. But i was the one to find the mix that taste pretty good but sneaks up on you fast. 2 or 3 pints of that mix and your feeling great or done. Especially if you have been drinking already.

Back to camshafts. Which one is which? Just got distracted watching the new xmen movie.

^ At least for testing, make sure it is indeed his cams and not the block, or confusion on install.
