Who tuned that!? That's by far the best gains from hondata that I've seen. What dyno? No offense but I would have expected more pretune. Reason I say this is I'd think there is a sold 40-50whp over a stock j30 in mods, and you have a j33.

Jeff Evans. Arguably, one of the best tuners in the country,

Jeff Evans at Evans Tuning in Mt Bethel, PA.

I was running a 3.2 TL Base map prior to the tune, so the car was definitely not as efficient as it should've been but I agree the gains were very impressive. The car drives completely different as well, must more responsive and substantially faster especially above 3500 RPM. The dyno was a Dyno Pack.

Still can't get over those crazy gains. 23whp is unreal! Your car needed a tune BADLY, Kev haha. Ported heads with 11:1 CR/TL-s cams, etc. Maybe I missed it, which injectors are you running?

93 Only. Not really any place to get 100 octane/race gas around here so that's out.

I listed them backwards, I'm an MT.

Yes I am running a stock TB for a whole slew of reasons which I am not getting into again. I could go larger in the future but for now I'll keep it as is.

Damn, look who's back from the dead lol. Congrats bro. Nice numbers. You should come by next month.

BTW are those base numbers from the AEM setup or with the Hondata TL 3.2 base map?

Hey Rich!! I always lurk I've just been super quiet with my wedding coming up next weekend. I'll try to get to the meet, but I get back from my honeymoon the night before so it'll be a last minute call!

The before numbers were the TL basemap.

I had a few dyno runs on the AEM FIC on a dyna pack under similar temp/humidity circumstances at wired in NJ with the same mods last fall and I only pulled 247 WHP and 222 WTQ which means the Hondata basemap was a better starting point.

Nice numbers. Haven't read your issues with your TB but your car is set up for great numbers, just needs more air coming in.

Probably could lick up and additional 10 WHP with more air coming in. Jeff actually had the car run over 280 WHP but had to back it off as he was starting to get a slight ping so he backed it down a little to keep reliability and safety in mind

At this point adding a $100-200 water and/or methanol kit to raise effective octane level, or a $100 Maxbore to get some minor air in there without all of the usual issues with a ZDX size TB or larger.

Just IMO, best bang for buck at this point to get closer to 300. Not counting retune. Impressive tuning gains as is.

Great results. Curious if upgraded intake parts would get you to 300hp or if the Frankenstein J33 has the same properties as the J36 regardless of air.

He should be able to tune to the ZDX TB, hell my stock 3.0 ECU figured out my DTB IM. After my first calibration the tuner had throttle bucking/jerkiness worked out, and my Idle settled down.

I thought there was still an air leak code and some idle issues even after tune?

In that case, ZDX or bust. As long as the bucking can be taken care of with Hondata, it's a worthwhile upgrade.

Wonder if his MDX spacer is ported as well, if the IM and runners are ported, the mdx should be as well. Thermal spacers on one, or both, sides may help some with ping and getting the intake temps lower if you don't go water.

^ my 3.0 ECU had the DTB IM running perfect. Perfect idle, no bucking, no surging, no CEL. I put Flash pro and TL ECU on and it went crazy. My tuner made two calibrations and it was good again.

The only time it isn't bad to be an auto.

Heads up, messing around inside the TB gears to raise sensitivity and idle can cause bucking.

im running the ported runners, stock intake manifold with butterflies deleted, and zdx tb. Im not having any problems....

3 Day weekend this weekend. So im getting another set of coil packs, new spark plugs and a tune if everything goes right. It will be interesting to see how my numbers compare to yours. Since we have the same head builds, ported runners, and similar other things. Minus MDX spacer, intake manifold, tb. And me having a bigger CAI and exhaust.

Do you have anything done to the bottom end of the motor? That def makes a world of difference.
