I had to get it retreaded . The end was pretty destroyed . Be cause the tapping tool was having an issue gripping the slanted end of the bolt . But all is well no besides the fact I have lost the timing key .

The bearing caps are machined to the individual block and ARE NOT REPLACEABLE. Both the block and caps are assembled then the block is "Align Bored" to get all 4 main bearing journals in perfect alignment. You need to remove the broken bolt from the cap or trash the block.

BTW, spec is only 36ftlbs of tourqe, HTF did you snap off a M10 bolt......

Eaither way based on the pics he took of the block after reinstalling the pistons this engine is toast, pitted cylinder walls is no bueno and I dont know what was used to rehone the cylinders but it was far from correct.

After those pictures the motor was completely take. Apart again and take to a local machine all the cylinders were rehoned and the motor was hot tanked. Along with the bearing cap being retreaded . Hey man I was trying to get in touch with you a while back . You worked on my cousin David's car av6speed I just got your mdxspacer from him the other day .

And as for the bolt braking I had a faulty torque wrench from harbor freight and I had a friend torquing down the bolt and he just kept going til it broke

PM me which account you would like to keep. Having multiple accounts is against the rules. If I don't hear from you soon, I'll make the pick myself.
