Tl or Tl-S Rack and Pinion

From my understanding the TL-S Rack, Pinion, and Pump are a direct fit for the base 04 TL. Any Idea if this goes same for our v6 accords? Have been doing quite a bit of research and haven't had any luck figuring it out. Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

08 TL-s Steering Rack on 03 V6/6spd coupe

let me know if you have any questions. I have to rack cushion on the passenger side waiting to be installed so i can get rid of the river shim.

Is not a direct but it ended up being cheaper for me at the time.

That is exactly what I'm looking for! So all the bolts holes line up and everything and it fits in just fine? Why does it need a shim?

Yeah everything bolts up to our sub-frame because they are pretty much the same. TL is aluminum to save weight while ours is steel. The shim was used as a temporary fix because I didn't know the TL rack had a smaller diameter thus would not clamp securely on the passenger side of the sub frame. I researched it after and found that the clamps are the same on both cars, but the rubber cushion for the TL is thicker to fit the smaller diameter of the TL's rack. I have the TL rubber cushion waiting to be installed. I have to drop my sub frame soon, so I'm waiting until then to install it. Be mindfully that you're running wider wheels with standard to high offset, the wheels may rub when to turn the steering end to end because of the increased turning radius meant for a sedan. If it does, you need to add wheel spacers to reduce your offset

Why would someone do this? Weight or performance advantage?

I did it merely by coincidence. I started researching steering rack issues after the one on my car started to fail. After having a bad experience with an online retailer, that I used to swear by, and was outa few hundred $ for a rack I couldn't use, I started looking at other options. I stumbled on the thread on acurazine about the tl guys changing to tl-s because it had a tigher gear ratio thus a little more responsive. I remember that the tl shares the same sub frame design, so I started looking at the cost of the 2 OEM racks, tl-s (with parts required for conversion) and the replacement Accords rack. The tl-s ended up being cheaper and the increase turn radius was just a bonus. This is not a "mod" that i would just do. I did because I needed a replacement.

How much of a gear ratio/turn radius difference are we talking about?
