megan test pipe here. No issue. ebay knock off have incorrectly welded flange that don't match up to stock j-pipe and/or the exhaust

Mmm... Not really. I dont like J-pipes. Only J-pipe i like that removes the 3rd cat is ATLP V2R. Other than that the dynoes seem to back atlp v2 that doesnt remove the cat. Paired with test pipe it made more power.

He just doesn't lol. I asked him the same question, despite the fact that he will make more power.

go to a shop and ask them how much it would cost to make you a test pipe...using the same quality stainless materials.

I think you will find it will cost you more to have a shop fabricate one from scratch, than simply dishing out $125 for one from Marcus.

Try the Megan test pipe. It SHOULD last a lifetime but, I would go with Heeltoe or Excelerate test pipe.

** All test pipes are the same diameter in and out.

The 3rd cat is very minimally restrictive, its actually a pretty free flowing design. Doubt you'd gain more than 1-2 hp from a test pipe. Much better going with something like the XLR8 v2 J-pipe.

Idk, the stock 3rd cat is like 1.75", which on a modded car is a huge restriction. I gained 25whp peak and over 30 in some spots from stock exhaust to open 3" cutout. On an actual dyno. Jpipe sucks though.

Well.. Most of the TL's i see dont dyno just add a mod and go from butt dyno, all the comparisons i see is J-pipe vs stock ive never really seen J-pipe vs 2.5" test pipe. I personally believe that most of the gain is from removing the stock cat vs pipe design im not saing there isnt any gains at all in J-pipes. My friend/mech owns a TL type S that has a stock J-pipe 2.5" test pipe PCD and a cutout and made 291whp (dynojet) now not only going by a peak precise number because that can vary by weather n dyno type but even give or take 10whp for whatever reasons you want to thats in all the ranges of a modded TL with J-pipe. Just haven been a fan of them mostly because i actually cant see the power difference. Just me... Im willing to be the dummy on this one

No offense man but that whole "quality" word goes in one ear and out the other as far as a test pipe goes lmao.. Shoot ive ran ebay branded test pipes before and now 10yrs later its still on my previous car (new owner) and still going. Maybe if we were talking about internal engine stuff then cool but a $50 test pipe?.. I dont care that much lol.. As long as it works, do its job at the same rate of production. Now im not someone to just cheap out on everything but i think there is a misconception with cars that unless its fully branded out with name brand parts then it will somehow break lol. Just a pipe!. Ppl run non name brand catbacks and made more power.. Im sure someone in here can post up how much more power their custom exhaust made over the ATLP quad catback i have that retails for $1300

Mentally i gained 10whp going from xlr8 v1 back to stock lol. I am willing to buy a J-pipe do a comparison dyno then sell the J-pipe right after (because im sure i wouldnt be satisfied) if you guys fund the dyno pulls. Ill do a whole vlog on it and dyno #'s. I will most likely get a J-pipe. Maybe the ATLP V2R

Roffl.. Im almost done with acurazine. I like you guys a lot more. Azine is more for folks bragging about stance lol... Build threads there have nothing to do with performance for the most part. Im mostly convinced about J-pipes. This test was just for you guys... I have the 1st $20 to put to a dyno of someone testing stock and 2.5" test pipe vs j-pipe. The extra 3whp i cant justify paying $450.. Im sure most if not all will disagree with me but its cool. Im not really trying to prove anything. Im sure you guys are right and im wrong just most likely wont get one lol... Im just weird like that i guess

You already paid the $400 for the Jpipe. Just dyno it and see for yourself lol.

Yet you're criticizing the butt dyno.... Lol it's your car no need to do the Jpipe if you don't want to. That Type S is fast, btw. Seen that video before.
