everyone has a different procedure. my plan is to start the engine and vary the rpm (in neutral) till it gets to operating temp while checking for leaks, then shut it down and do an oil and filter change. inspect old oil and filter for metal. go out for a drive with a lot of high rpm vacuum decel in gear to seat the rings, then change the oil again to check for more shavings, then drive city only for the next 500-1000 miles. change/check oil, then drive normal (city/highway) till 2500 miles, switch to synthetic.

just use dino oil for first 2500 miles, vary the rpm, use high rpm vac decel, and change oil often and you should be set.

I used(still do) conventional 10w30 after my break in. 01 Accord w/ J35A3 w/ 2005 Acura RL pistons/ring set. New factory block.

I just drove normal, like it was my daily.

Would like to add:
Do NOT go into V-tec (high cam) for at least 5,000 miles. Let everything get "settled in".
