True Dual Exhaust

I was under my car doing an oil change and I looked at the stock exhaust. It got me thinking, wouldnt it be beneficial to have a true dual exhaust running all the way back with performance mufflers rather than just cat back?? It would eliminate the need for the restrictive J pipe, and would really open things up. Does not look like it would be that difficult to fabricate either. I appreciate your throughts!

TWO words....................... BACK PRESSURE. Our engines depend on it and take it away and you will notice a significant loss in low end torque. Be careful, you might wind up losing power and have to go back to stock. There really isnt much power to gain on exhausts on either the 6th or 7th gen, it is mostly a show mod.

THREE words.......SMALLER DIAMETER PIPING
I am doing this on my 99 sedan v6 when I finally buy one. Running single pipe into a single flowmaster street rod muffler [long and skinny, will fit in the exaust tunnel] with dual outlets, so all you see are the dual pipes coming out from under the car and exiting out back with some nice tips, no mufflers in sight
