Intake and rain

Is it possible that rain not a big puddle can hydrolock a engine.I see that the filter sits right in the foglight area where rain can be pushed in when driving at high speeds. Do you think it is possible to suck up water this way?

I would assume you would have to suck up a huge amount of water to ruin your engine. i.e submerge the filter

what do you think

Ummm, I don't think so. I've driven in rain and it doesn't hydrolock. Just don't floor it during the rain, and avoid the puddle splashes.

you will only hydrolock your engine if the entire intake inlet were to be submerged in water. so unless you're fording the nile, you will be fine. period.

why is everyone such a ***** about this? and why do people even discuss this at all?

Too many dumb posts in one day. Timeout: 2 weeks.

If you don't know or understand what you're talking about then don't post anything. All you're contributing is CONFUSION and you're not helping people who are asking questions at all.

BTW, please search for "hydrolock". This is been discussed ad-nauseum. There's no need to keep creating the same thread over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
