CAI Intake

Hey guys, got a question that I just thought about.

I have an AEM V2 intake, and you can see the filter through the foglights(the holes around the foglights)

I know it might sound stupid, but if I take it to a carwash, you think it'll be a risk of hydrolock because of how the filter is visible through the front? Or does it not work like that? Like I know your filter has to be submerged in a puddle for it to hydrolock, but this has got me kinda concerned,.,,What you guys think?

Thankz

...no need for that

better safe than sorry is how I look at it. Again, the reason I asked is because the filter is visible through the foghlight, so if i get a hose and spray the front, it would soak the filter.

So next time, if you don't have anything to contribute to the thread, don't post,,,Thanks.

I think it was a decent question. He was afraid of water spraying into his intake filter from car washes, because they pump out a lot of water, what's wrong with that? I'm sure you weren't born with the knowledge that intake filters must be almost submersed in water for the engine to hydrolock, you learned it somewhere.

the thing is that this question is asked OVER AND OVER. when this kind of common knowledge is questioned again and again by people, i tend to get pissed off. think about how much money AEM is making off of ignorant people buying their stupid bypass valve. they KNOW that people are going to worry about something that is not a danger, and they are marketing a device for those people.

well I agree 100% about the questions that are asked over and over (that is why all intake threads asking which one gives more power are closed on the spot now, because no one really knows because no one does their own independent dynos), they piss me off too, but you don't have to basically call him stupid lol.

Look dude, I didn't see any carwash CAI intake threads, there are A LOT of threads saying "how deep of a puddle, how much water does it take", etc etc. My question was different.

If it pisses you off, don't reply, simple as that. I'm not gonna talk **** over the computer, cuz that's lame.

Basically I could care less what you think.

..meaning the question. HENCE "it". Don't try and clown, you'll just make yourself look like a moron. And the only reason I said that is coz most of you forum kids like to act tough on the internet and clown on people asking questions.
