will intake void warrantee?

Hey I already did a search on this and I couldn't find any results. DO you guys know if installing a V2 ( or any intake ) will void the warrantee on my 03 6 spd? If so couldn't I just swap out the CAI with the stock one if I ever get any engine problems and need to take it to Honda to get checked out?

depends if they can prove the intake caused the problem. yea u can just swap out tha intake to tha stock one if a problem does happen, but you will not need to if lets say...the problem was tha rotor warping (non intake realted). get tha picture?

I called up honda today and they said that the intake will void the warrantee on the engine. They say that they will know if you replaced then swapped it out becasue there is a seal that is broken when you take off the intake. This sounds kinda fishy

Depends what you call an "intake". Before this car, I drove domestic cars (mustang, Trans Am, few trucks). Anyhow, when you refer to an "intake", I think of an intake manifold. I could see where that would void the warranty.

I installed my intake myself. There is no seal. They are just trying to scare you. You should ask your dealer just in case. I asked a couple in my area and they said that an intake will NOT void the warranty.

Don't ask for Kevin... He isn't usually at the shop. haha. Freakin Kevin goes here and there saying he got some 'paper work'.

Ask for Alan. He is always at the shop. He knows Mike too. Ah, he knows me too

Oh ya, btw, I saw Blue Mazda6 from Autobot at ccauto today. Did not have time to talk to him since he was about to leave but... I think he talked about turbo charging his Mazda6 before attending a show at San Diego (I think he meant HIN)... Mike do you know if that is true or not?

Any modifications will void your warranty. Read your owners manual. How do I know this, because of the war I had with HondaCare on my 98 Prelude's tranny failing. Don't believe me try and fight them.

I talked to another technician manager at honda and he said that they will not knkow if you swap the aftermarket intake out for the stock one if problems occur. I ordered the AEM v2 for $248 from rpmmotoring.com. I ordered it saturday night but i don't think they ship on sundays so i'm expectin it to come in tomorrow or wednesday.

P.S. - Do you guys think that Pep Boys will do a good job on installing the intake and has anyone figured out how to reset the ECU yet. I know you pull the negative battery thing out but i'm not sure which fuse to pull.

You gotta disconnect the battery do install the intake anyway, so don't worry about resetting the ecu.

I stopped by my Honda dealer yesterday to pick up some things and we were discussing intakes (since they sell AEM) and the service manager told me they will give you absolutely no problems with an intake unless you hydrolock the engine. He also said that if I had the bypass valve on my car and did hydrolock that they would cover it under warranty. He was telling me that a couple of guys have locked theirs up with cold air intakes and no bypass valve and they turned it into their insurance company and the insurance company covered it due to water ingestion being a "road hazard". However if you do that, I suggest you not mention to your company that you had a CAI.

They would actually have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the failure for it to void your warranty and even then it would only void the warranty on the parts that failed, not the entire car. This is the law, it is not up to the individual dealer, they cannot deny you warranty claims for aftermarket parts.

I just pulled mine about an hour ago and I can't remember which one it is. It is labeled backup though. You don't have to disconnect the battery to get the intake in, and surprisingly enough, you don't have to pull the bumper if you have skinny arms.
