AEM V2 questions

I am thinking of getting the AEM V2. How often does the filter have to be cleaned? Does the front bumper need to be removed for installation? Is it better than Injen RD?

Thanks.

I didnt take off front bumper, filter doesnt need to be cleaned too often.... every 20k miles? if that maybe, not sure though. I dont know if I can scientifically say its better than INJEN but I think its mimimum the same if not better!

used AEM V2 CAI, defective??

There is a inward bend on the lip of the larger side (part that connects to the filter) of the CAI I just purchased. Kinda bends to a less than 45 degree angle for about 1/5 of the opening perimeter, about 1/4 inch from the opening, otherwise it's round. Will this affect anything whatsoever or is this problem neglegible??

I think you have to un-bend it....... During the release of the V2 AEM, i remember people had their V2s all bend like yours because of bad shipping. Search for that thread =)

no pics, I said 'f' it and just installed. I was worried about banging it straight because I didn't want to chip the paint and potentially cause my engine probs. If it does effect performance, I will take the darn wheel and well cover off and try to bang it straight and perhaps use some high temp paint, but if performance isnt affected, Ill just leave it as it.
