Popping Noise After V2 Install

I installed my V2 two nights ago and yesterday notices a popping sound coming from somewhere on the left side of the engine compartment when I turn off the car. It sounds like a valve opening to release air or something. Anyone have a clue??
Thanks.

Some people notice a "sigh" after you turn of the engine, like you describe. I would venture to say it's normal. Now you hve a green coupe? I would like to see pics.

I don't think it's unusual...... my car does it with my Injen CAI. It's probably a sound that was "eliminated/cancelled out" with the stock airbox and resonator.

Do your cars also have a high pitched whine under load too?

i get that pop too after turning off my car, im sure its normal cause everyone i ask has the same thing.
i get the high pitch sort of like a valve sucking in air only at about 2.5-3 rpms after that the growl comes in which is soooooooo sswweeeeeeeeeeeettt!!!!!!!!

most of the time im crusin at only about 2 rpms at which points its sounds just like the stock intake (quiet)

I LOVE MY V2

No, no whine with my Injen CAI. Maybe it's a characteristic of the V2.

That popping noise is the turbo BOV! Hah, I wish we could easily do turbo's for the 7th gen V6's....anyways...that's a normal noise for any type of CAI. It's just all the built up air in the engine, throttle body, and intake itself, and it just let's it out. It's normal, and I like it because the V2 sometimes sounds like a turbo spooling up (a little) and then when you cut it off, that's the noise most turbo systems let out. Nothing to fear, it's all normal.

actually, you're just releasing the engine vac, so in actuality air is going IN as your engine sighs...

I think some of you are talking about the hiss or last gasp the intake makes when the car is shut off....

That popping sound doesn't sound normal... but i had a short ram before and never heard this...

I've have had my CAI for about 1.5 years and it only began to do this about 3 months ago....

Does anyone really know what this is... or is everyone going to say its normal...

it's the air rushing into your intake, since at idle your intake plenum is under vacuum. check the post above.

Then why wasn't the "popping" sound around when I first got the intake???

Check all your hose connections, I just installed mine on my new 04, and it definately does not make this sound. Mine makes a strange reverb sound under full load. I just checked all my hose connections as well.

I finally turned off the stereo and was listening to all the noises the V2 makes. It makes all kinds of whistling and squeeking noises, pending what rpm you prod the throttle. When coasting down (no gas), if you slowly get on the gas anywhere from 2000 to 2800 rpm, I hear a brake squeel type sound. Anyone have this very high pitched whistling? Flooring it causes it to go away. I can't tell if it's coming more from the TB or from the filter. Will find out this weekend when I reroute some wires so they don't rub the V2 tube.
