Warranty question

I've been looking at buying the Apexi V-afc II for a while now and it just dawned on me that this item might void my warranty.........Does anybody have any thoughts?

Warranty can only be voided if your mod actually causes the damage. And even then, it doesn't void the warranty on the car, just that component. How anal Honda a particular dealership may be about it is anyone's guess at this point.

Just buy a wiring harness for it if you're worried about your warranty. Makes your V-AFC plug and play basically, no need to splice/cut any wires. If you ever need to bring your car to Honda for service, with the harness you can just unplug it and drive to Honda. Seriously only takes a couple minutes to install/uninstall.

I have heard of one harness made by frog vtec or something like that. 2fastforu99 had gotten one of these and said that it worked beautifully. I however did it the old fashion way by cuttin and splicin! But hey it works. The only problem is. Is if the ecu blows and you want it replaced under warranty then we are SOL!

Well...when you are altering the car's ECU you set yourself up for serious warranty rape. The ECU controls the entire car, I mean it's the brain. It wouldn't be hard for the dealership to blame the VAFC for a LOT of problems. Obviously a straight mechanical failure couldn't be blamed on the VAFC, but anything under the ECU (sensors, fuel/ignition systems, etc) could be depending on how big of ****heads the dealership is.
