Exclamation How Many Satisfied With AV6 Performance?

Well, are you guys and gals happy with your AV6's overall performance??

I know i am , but howcome i see all these threads on changing the exhaust, intake, pullies, etc. The most i would do is probably remove the resonator box,and throw in a K&N in there I feel the lowend torque on these cars is great compared to my "other" car

What do you peeps think?

What was your other car? This car has horrible low end torque but I did enjoy the high end quite a bit!

We are talking about a 6th gen here like it says that you own....right?

If you think thatís bad then you've never driven a Civic auto or 6th gen AV6 . But how could it be that bad? I've driven a 7th gen inline 4 auto and found the torque in that engine to be more than enough for day to day driving.

For a family car the 7th gen Accord (inline 4 and V6) has a good amount of torque .

Funny you say that, because I've owned both a Civic AT and a 7th Gen I4 AT before my AV6. A Civic is an A-to-B car. I don't expect it to impress me when it comes to power. Impress me with gas mileage? Yes. Power? No.

And, for some reason, my 7th Gen I4 AT felt more torquey than the AV6 AT when you tapped on the gas from a red light Then again, the AV6 feels much smoother off the line, so I guess it's a trade-off. I'm still, overall, satisfied with the AV6's power, but just a little more torque off the line (under 4000 rpm or before VTEC kicks in) and it'd be perfect.

Lol you guys are wayyyyyyyy too picky. Yes i have driven a domestic before(Camaro Z28), so i know what low-end is. I am saying that the V6 version is very powerful for the street, and can school a lot of other cars/SUV's out there.......

IMO, the car performancewise is a 4 outta 10 :P
If the accord had matching torque w/ hp, then i'd give it a 8 outta 10

Overall, the cars worth the buy because u don't have to pay a lot for a nice interior / exterior and is still somewhat fast

Atleast the 04 coupes are faster than the toyota solara, etc.

And you have to know that the reason i like the 7gen accord coupe is an awesome interior, great styling, and an efficent engine. If i wanted stoplight to stoplight dominating power, we would have gotten a GTO or a Cobra. We should appreciate how good our cars are compared to its competitors.

all of that intake and exhaust generate too much noise. makes the car seem like it's trying too hard to keep up to other cars. I'm fine with what i have and don't want to attract any attention.

I assume you might be talking about the 7th gen AV6 and not the 6th gen listed on your info.
The 6th gen really lacks torque and gets schooled buy a lot of other cars and trucks, especially now days since everything is faster!
I remember getting owned by full size extended cab trucks with minimal mods when my av6 had all the bolt ons!

Lol, yes i am talkin about the 7gen.(Read Plum's Post)

The 6gen is not that bad either. Yes from a stop it will get its a*s kicked, but from a rolling speed, its impressive. I never had any problems passing any pickup trucks on the highway or street. Its just from a light, that i try to avoid a potential race.

I have an 04 Honda Accord Coupe v6 6-speed and it has its up and downs. The build quality is fantastic however, I feel that some of these cars have been rushed to get done and weren't precisely tuned to perfection, there are rattles and etc that are very annoying. Again though, the materials are very good and consistent with the cars design. The driving experience has surpassed my previous expectations. I have custom exhaust to the 1st 2 cats and a V2 intake. I have an optima yellow top battery and custom ground wiring I did myself. The car has been reduced about 110lbs, dropped 2 inches on some ADR 19-inch rims and falken tires. For everyone who said the torque is horrible... I disagree. The throttle response is very rapid when I hit the pedal and accelerates to about 110mph with no slow down. Then comes the Comptech S/C and UR Pullies.

I am satisfied with the driving experience, the accoustic capabilities and handling.

i had a mustang, PURE GARBAGE, compared to my AV6 of today, eventhough it does seem it has mediocre low end torque. To me it doesnt matter, i slapped a V2 in my car, a kit, wheels, and COs, and my car looks bangin as it is, AV6s although they are 6 cylinders, you got to consider they are also luxury, we have the best of both worlds, power and look, and i cant complain on either or side.
my 2 cents.

I love my 6speed. I dont know what you guys are doing to get schooled all the time. I have had so many people shocked by how quick my car is. Granted, the low end torque is not exactly mind blowing, it gets the job done.

I am looking forward to the serious aftermarket really opening up soon. Im not a fan of the cars that come out of the showroom fast...I want to build MY car. The potential for the av6 is insane...I cant wait for forced induction- most likely in the form of a super charger. After that, some internals, a chip....ah the possibilities are endless.

I dont regret my purchase at any time, infact I test drive cars for fun and I have not come across one that I like better than my 6-speed.

maybe cuz the I4 have the ivtec which kicks in during low RPM

That's what I'm thinking too. That and the fact that it has more torque than horsepower

I love every part of it. I just love the car. I had an auto civic before.. so it was a HUGE jump for me. I was considering WRX, s2000, jetta 1.8t, and tsx.. and I am very satified with my result.

So many people complain on this board about their build quality... I guess it's early 04 or 03s? or are you guys just blinded by the small bad things over millions of good thigns?

Im just not happy about their "fix" for the transmission issue. I didn't know about this before I bought my car a couple months ago. It may have been enough to make me go with the tsx.
