Called Comptech about J-pipe.
I don't know if this is news or now, but
Bad news first:
They delayed the development of a J-pipe for our cars until after the new year, which blows, but...
The good news:
They are developing a J-pipe for the Acura TL, and if I remember correctly, they are the exact same piece that will fit our cars. The guy I talked to at comptech acknowledged that, but added that they don't know what sort of gains to expect if you installed the TL piece on our cars, since they didn't have an Accord to test it on.
The fit is easy enough for us to test though. When the J-pipes come out for the TL, somebody will have to convince a TL owner who is buying the comptech unit to ship their old pipes to one of us and see if it is a direct replacement. If it fits, then we have J-pipes. Alternatively, we can just check for cross listed part numbers.
In anycase, I am sure that Comptech will still charge insane amounts of money for it.
I also called Borla and asked them if anything was on the table for a j-pipe and I got a "Naw, man, I don't think we do anything like that cause you will get rid of the cat and thats illegal." at which point, I hung up thinking how my question went right over his head.
