I haven't noticed anything negative with mine, quite the opposite actually. It's a simple cheap mod, and shifting feels great afterwards. Someone here described it as "the way it should have been from the factory", and I couldn't agree more.

As for synchros or gears, there should be no affect. Since all you're doing is changing the fulcrum point, at the transmission the same pressures are being applied, same gears being moved around, etc.

actually with a short shifter you have a little less leverage and are probably gentler on the synchros. you may want to lurk around for short shifter review threads, i read one where a guy had a problem with a bushing coming off and ended up having to pull everything back apart and duct tape some pieces?

no matter what you do, it's probably better than pushing the shifter against the synchro to nudge the car forward (nervous tic i have)

The short shifter is a great and inexpensive mod. I would sughgest it to anybody that has a 6-speed! I know that 04Rydah just bought the comptech one and we are going to put it on his car this weekend. So go for it and buy it!

hmmmm, one of my friends also told me that with a SS, it slams into the gears and is bad for synchros, not sure if its true, but it is holding me back from getting one right away...

haha yea well i bought the comptech SS and and it came today...ALSO with my AEM V2 that i ordered like a week before it...i was so happy to see both boxes when the UPS guy came. haha well anyway...im gonna be installing both soon. but for those ppl that have the comptech SS... i have a question. on the instruction, it says to torque the bolts back on to 16lbf-ft. i was wondering if you HAVE to use that amount of force on the bolts..what happens if you just do it manually?? does it mess it up?
