Ordered my V2 today. good price?

I ordered a V2 finally. I paid $270 for it. I was wondering if thats a good price. They quoted me that when I bought my car and then gave me a hard time about the price today and said "Prices must have gone up since then" I then claimed to take my business else where and they gave in. Just wondering how much most of you paid for it and if I got a pretty good deal on it. I cant wait to install it when I get my car back from the dealer........

I wouldn't say that $270 is a bad deal, but just not the best. I paid $260 with installation for mine when it first came out. I've seen a few people on here who got it for a little cheaper, but IMO I don't really care about $10-15. If it were like a $50 difference it'd be a different story. And it was probably just BS about prices going up.

$248 used to be the cheapest you could get it online- I think at rpmmotoring or something like that. Fortunately my roommate is a parts reseller so I paid less than that- I could probably have him check prices with AEM and order some for people if there is still enough interest...

thats a rip off...I paid $220 shipped for mine from an online store. I forget where tho, I'll post the site once i get back home.

*edit*
the site is buyperformance.com but i guess the prices have gone up. if you use the coupon code "factory" you'll get it for $251 shipped.

PM sent. The cheapest way to get them is going to be a group buy. But if I set that up I have to pay the $25 to v6p- not that I'm complaining because this is a great site.

I'm guessing with a group buy for it to be worthwhile it's going to have to be 10+ people.

There's no way you got it for $220 shipped- that's under cost for a reseller. The cheapest I've ever seen was $248 or $249 shipped via that rpm motoring site.

Have you done a side by side dyno? Do we even have any dynos of the injen rd?

Not to sound like an AEM fanboi but their research is sound (hah no pun intended if you know anything about the V2)- I looked into the technology when it came out for the RSX (I was considering buying one) and was very impressed- the physics behind it actually makes sense! The V2 for the RSX is a shortram and it was making as much power as the CAIs that they have. I actually got to talk to the lead engineer (via PMs and the rsx forum) that created the RSX V2 (Montoya if anyone remembers) and he was quite knowledgable.

Someone on here did a dyno with just a V2 and gained 12+ whp across quite a bit of the RPM spectrum- that's quite a bit for just a CAI.

So you may have saved $75-100 but are you gaining as much HP?

I would probably think so. Meaning you spent more money doesn't mean your going to get more hp. Your just paying more money for a different design. Both Injen and the AEM V2 are merely the same, + or - 1 or 2 hp. And from what i've read the only difference is the Injen has slightly better low end power while the V2 is better in the upper rpm's.

no dyno except a side-by-side butt dyno... check this if you havent already

http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...ad.php?t=38402

in my opinion i think its a fantastic write up, and honestly i based much of my decisions on aem vs. injen through this comparison. i was torn when i was getting an intake, but seeing that our accords are notorious for the low end torque, i figured it could use the help until the UR pulley's come around, that and the idea of an extra $100 being in my pocket was quite the incentive. im not bashing the aem v2 in any way/shape/form, but i just couldnt rationalize spending the extra bank on it...

take a look at the basic design of the aem v2 and the injen, i dont see how one could possible produce significantly higher whp than the other.
