do they actually work?

i've seen this thing called G-Box, www.nextlevelracing.com does this thing really gives the power which it says, does anyone know anything about this product?

www.turbonator.com and what about this site's products?

waaaaahahahha, i know guys, but i only want to know what the hell are they, and why do they advertise these stuff all over the internet. especially the g-box in which they claim it works almost on all cars.

they advertise it thinking that they can get the civic fast and furious type owners that dont know anything about real tuning to waste their money on it.

are these the things that basically use a resistor to trick your air sensor into thinking the air is colder than it is, so it will increase timing and add more power (in theory)?

A buddy of mine has a corvette, and he's doing that but the opposite, he's making it look like the air is hotter, so it will retard timing, so he can run 150 jets on his nitrous without blowing up his engine.


So in theory, they might work, the question is whether or not the ecu will advance timing with colder air. If you're running 91 or 93 octane your timing may be advanced as it's gonna get already, dunno. Anyone with some smarts know anything about this?

Oh, and if it did work you could probably rig one up yourself from some radio shack parts for like $3.50

DON'T FALL FOR IT!

Consider the UNICHIP. That has hundreds of hours of R&D, thank god it's not called a g-box. HAHA! I got one of those, but it sits in the passenger seat
