J-Pipe update, anyone?

Anybody have any updates about J-Pipe? I'm thinking about going custom since nobody seems to be wanting to do anything for us...

But the question remains...should I keep it as "stock", where it's the front and rear bank leads to one pipe going back to a y-pipe, or should I go true dual exhaust.

If anybody has done a clone of the stock J-Pipe such as I am talking about, can you tell me how it performs compared to stock? I know how the true dual conversion is...basically low-end loss high-end gain.

I was on the acura section of this site and saw a post with this link

http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/...nda-Tuning.pdf

read about the custom header part. They had custom downpipes constructed and gained 15-20 hp. apparently they were not even equal length headers... granted its on an acura tl engine, but it has the same exhaust problems we do on the j30a4.

wow, yeah...thats pretty impressive. They gained 15hp and 17ft.lb. on a stock TL engine, but keep in mind that was on 100octaine and ECU tuning.

Still, I am coming ever closer to just getting one custom made also.

Best route to go right now would be custom... just find a good muffler shop to make you one...

Yeah, that looks like a really nice car, but your going back to an i4? I wonder how much they'll go for anyways. I don't know...I'd say hang in there a bit.

Ya, it's going to cost your quite a bit of money to have a custom J-pipe manufactured. I took the pictures of Tman's J-pipe to a local import performance shop, and they said it was going to run me about $1200. But if you can find some place cheaper, more power to you.

Yeah....I'm with you guys on giving up for everything aftermarket except for now the BASIC of all basic mods...which we all tend to have: intake and exhaust.
ACT I believe gave up on the clutch
Comptech.....well this is a given, it's comptech.
Borla...yeah they did cat-back exhaust, but that's where it ends...They gave up on the J-Pipe
Yadda yadda.....

I love this car a lot, but I don't think we'll ever see anything in the high-potential range without doing custom work, such as turbo (how?!), j-pipe, etc.

Guess it's time to create a custom supercharger...
