Cool my cats need to be replaced, tips suggestion? stock exhaust P0420

2007 accord V6 LX, aftermarket CAI

so my fuel economy is suffering, and i get a recurring 0420 code
i took it to diagnosed and got told a catalytic converter needs replaced.
also oxygen sensor, after looking through the forums i also found out that there is a pre-cat!?

i am looking for the most economical option, so i can contunuie driving for a year more. couple of shops quoted some high prices on labor and parts. even though its illegal i will try buying a used cat.

i will probably do a resonator delete too.

any tips, suggestion welcome, J-pipe maybe?

do you have to smog? If not get high flow pre-cats. and XLR8 sell a high flow 3rd cat. This car has 3.

These are the one where the sensor goes into

Diagnosed at a shop with a high end scanner or Auto Parts store with a handheld?

Did they specify which of the 3 converters?

Should he maybe start with just replacing the O2 sensor and see what that does?....because code P0420 is kind of a general code correct?

Just replaced my cat and O2 sensor 3 days ago, what price did they give you? I noticed a huge difference after about 100 miles of driving. No more lights and knocking. Much better fuel economy. Car runs much better now. I almost regret not putting high flow cats and doing Intake/J Pipe/Exhaust with it.

high flow is a worthy replacement for stock as long as the funds allow and your emissions checks are not super regulated with visual checks and all that crap
