If it happens at one point during a full rotation and you don't hear it when the car is jacked up/on a lift, push the car until it happens then stop it and go inspect. Could be something in the tread of the tire
Anything on the rear half of the car. Bolt loose, bad brakes, rotor warped, caliper stuck, caliper non working, boiled fluid, imbalanced tire, cracked rim, broken axle, broken tire, flat shaped tire, too low of pressure, and probably another few dozen things.
I would find a new mechanic. All your posts say he "looked at it" while looking at something else and voicing an opinion. Look at the tire, look at the brakes, take off the tire, look at stuff, hire somebody to take off the tire and look at stuff. For your head ticking issue? Look at stuff. Hire somebody to look at stuff. Poke it. Test it. Hire someone to test it.
This post is equivalent to saying "my foot hurts, why?"
actually how I fixed the last rear brake issue. Had a weird sound like low pads but the pad was fine. Started poking things and the caliper guard didn't sound right. Had been bent during a previous brake swap and was periodically scraping.
