Help with grounding issue

Hi, I have a 2003 V6 Accord EX that has started to exhibit an issue in the past 3 weeks I am hoping someone can help me with.

The initial symptom was that when I went to turn on the high beams, the check Engine light would flash and engine sputter dripping RPMs. It only lasted a second or so and was not consistent.

Then about 3 times it stalled when pulling into a location but again was not consistent.

After a couple weeks, it started to get consistent that the when I switched to high beams it would act up then started doing it when I turned on ether blinker. BTW - no computer codes for the engine or transmission.

At that point I suspected electrical and checked the negative battery to chassis cable - cleaning it and reattaching. That immediately stopped the issue for about a week and just yesterday it started again when I go to high beams.

Now I am wondering if I have other grounds to check but not sure where they all are located. I saw a ground strap attached to the left side engine mount that I am thinking of replacing, but now feel I am chasing a ground issue.

Hoping for any advice/experience I can leverage. Thanks in advance!

How is your battery? I would start by load testing the battery and see if its holding up. Your issue definitely sounds electrical.

It only happens at night when you have your lights on?

If so, first thing I would try is replacing the bulbs individually. I have had bulbs cause weird issues. Had a rear tail light bulb cause a fuse to keep blowing when I turned on my headlights. Replaced the rear tail light bulbs and the problem was solved.

Hope that is the cause of your issue.

Thanks for the replies

Thanks for the thoughts.

I did have the battery checked and it is good.

I ended up finding 3 grounding cables (battery to chassis, Engine mount to chassis and Transmission to chassis). Given the low cost I went ahead and replaced all three. Since then I have not experienced any issues so I suspect it was one of them or a combination that was causing it.

If it comes back I will post again.
