Kari, other than the fact that your car is lower and you cant go 4-wheeling anymore, what kind of changes do you feel? Do you think handling is improved enough to justify the $1100-1300 cost(since the rest of us cannot get them for free). And finally, how does everyday ride quality compare to stock?

Handling is awesome considering all I did was lower my car. Prior to the drop, I had ALOT of body roll but now cornering is alot faster with less body roll.

In terms of whether the Teins are "worth it", I would say most definitely because these are true coilovers, not sleeves like GC. You can a) adjust damper and b) don't have to worry about your stock shocks being blown. In the end, you'll save money anyway since if your stock shocks blow, you'll have to end up spending $$$ to buy new ones.

Quality of ride is awesome too. Not too bouncy and I can adjust the stiffness anytime I want. Of course there're differences compared to stock but it's not that much of a difference.

honda_girllll...have you ever ask them if there any possibilities that Tein might introduce EDFC for 6th/7th gen accord?

According to www.tein.com, the Tein SSP model for both 6th and 7th gen (when it comes out for 7th gen) is EDFC compatible. All other models, I'm not sure.

I am planning on getting the EDFC controller soon!

As the resident pro with the Tein SSP's, can you answer the following:

1) With the pillow mount what did they have to do to intall it?
2) Will they also release SS's or just regular Teins?

I am just looking at lowering my car with the cheapest and best quality true coilovers. Cause more than likely if i slap on some GC's, I'll blow my shocks, thereby shooting myself in the foot.

ps: props on the slamm

wesley

ok I hope I understand your questions and answering them right.

1) The pillow mount is already attach to the coilovers so there is no additional installation require.
2) The SS will be out in a few more months. and I don't know what do you mean by the regular ones. Do you mean the Basic? They will all be release at once.

The one that Kari got is the grandfather for all the coilovers made for the 7th gen and possibly on the 04+ Acura TL.

There was two prototype that was tested. One was for the I4 and one for V6. It was done this way just in case if there was a difference. In reality they're the same. So yes it would fit the I4 Accords.

It's close but not exactly what I want. I want the true EDFC system...the one that you can raise or lower your car from indash EDFC controller just like the one they have in Japan
