Largest Tire on HFP 17s?

Im looking into possibly buying a set of drag radials for my HFP 5 spoke 17s. Trying to figure out what would be a good size.

Wondering it 235/45R17 would fit, currently have 215/50R17s...

What is your rim width? If it's 7" then 235/45-17 is beyond most manufacturer's recommendations for a 7" rim.

^Yeah, you'll have to look up the manufacturer's rim width range for whatever specific tire you want to run.

If you only care about straight-line performance, you can select a tire that specifies 7" towards the bottom of the range. This will put the largest tire patch on the road at the expense of lateral traction.

I don't know how you want to select the tire diameter, though. Are you running out 4th gear in the 1/4 mile? You can adjust your overall tire diameter to put you in the powerband in your final 1/4 mile gear (smaller diameter) or limit your wheelspin on launch (larger diameter)...whatever you choose to do.

Well im looking for some new tires soon. So why not Drag radials. wider is better right... and I dnt race around curves. So maybe I will just move up to a 225.
