Bagged 2003 Coupe

For those of you thinking of baggin your accords here is a new product coming out. Its an air strut instead of the air cylinder, this means a smoother ride, sometimes better than stock at the right psi.

And the Acura TSX

I see nothing rice about that... Anyone know how much that costs? I think it looks real good and would like to have a set-up like that. Hopefully its not way over-priced because I have been considering going with air and was looking for a bolt on kit like this one.

He just wants to act like a "cool guy" because the cool thing to do nowadays is to label something rice

A kit like that will probably be around 2k. It is straight bolt on. The tanks will probably weight like 10-15 lbs depending on the size of them.

Yeah its a straight replacement, the reliability depends on the user. If you abuse it and dont give it proper maintenance then they will not last. Also, i do not recommend having only one compressor. I had 4 on my car. Not just for back up but for a fast re-fill of my tanks to clown around

00&03Accords: What kind of maintenance would those require exactly? Under regular use and maintenance, how long will they last. I have seen and heard of people with with air bags having problems at times, but I never heard anything bad about the struts.

This is how this works, you have a compressor that is connected to the tank. There is a pressure switch or relay that is set to a certain psi, once the tank goes below that point the compressor turns on and fills your tank back up. It only turns on if your car is on, if its off it will not. Unless they wire it differently.

I dont really know what kind of maintenance there is for struts, i know for cylinders you need to spray wd-40 to keep it lubricated. As far as other things to worry about are the compressors and the valves. Some valves stick with time, when that happends the air is not locked in the bag and it spits it back to the tank. There is a check valve that prevents it from spitting it back.

When you've lowered your car so much that the rear bumper is scraping the ground...that's rice. The one in his sig looks great. The TSX is just ridiculous.

^ I agree if you chop your spring and your car is scraping on the ground w/ no suspension then you can call it rice, Air Ride is definitly NOT rice! being able to get out of your car and slam it to the ground is F*CKIN HOT!

Handling sucks with air ride. No fast cornering because u will loose control of the car. At high speeds it feels really bad, like you can loose control and smack on the wall. I know hit around 110-115 on my 2000 accord on air and it felt really bad, had to slow let go of the gas.

EEK. Looks nice though. IMHO, good enough for parking-lot-pimpin'.
I prefer crazy man driving, I'll get the Teins.
