endlink bolt, help!

Hi,
I got my rear sway and I started installing. I put my hex key to the endlink and as I was loosening the bolt my hex key broke. The bolt is loose, broken hex key's inside and I cannot get the bolt out. What should I do? Is there any good way to get this? Thanks.

Wow..... that sux.

Is there any sticking out that you can grab with vise grips? Probably not, I imagine....... that's too easy.

Hex keys are normally hardened, so it would be tough to drill it out.

I don't know...... hopefully somebody esle will have an idea.

Good luck.

The best advice I can give is this....

Since the the hex key is inside of the threaded bolt, use a lighter to heat up the OUTSIDE of the thread. This will make the OUTSIDE metal expand, then get a magnet, or some sort of tweezers to pull out the embedded hex.... dont forget about some WD-40. Good Luck, let me know what happens.

BTW, you dont need to get a new hex set, there is a long hex tool in the trunk with the jack, and it fits in there perfectly

You might try grabbing the bolt from behind the endlink connection. This is a bad drawing, but it gives you the idea. I had a similar thing happen to me...the hex stripped out.

Thanks everyone. I tried for a while to no avail so I just let the shop do it. I didn't want to make it worse. Anyway, it's all good now.

I later found this out. That sunroof tool is exactly 5mm.

I didn't know that I can grab from the other side. I should have tried this. Anyway, Thanks.

That long hex key is used to close the sunroof manually. It's in the trunk with the other tools.
