Interesting TL wheels information

I had recently put on the TL wheels on my 7th gen sedan and went to the dealership to have my oil changed. The service guy came to me and told me the tires/rims are NOT compatible for my vehicle!!!. He also stated it would VOID ANY warranty on the ABS components and WILL NOT pass inspection due to size incompatibility. Anybody else run into this with the TL wheels?

Moreover, spread the word around your area about the stupidity of this dealership. If they're going to be pulling stunts like that, then make them pay where it hurts. Their bottom line.

i put the stock 05 TL rims on my car and personally i think they don't look good. only reason i got them is cuz i got a good deal on 'em and i needed new tires on my stock 6 speed rims anyways.

Yes it would VOID ANY warranty on the ABS components since it is aftermarket rims..

It should pass STATE inspections because
no-one checks size incompatibility... (I could be wrong)

These rims couldn't damage the ABS system, but they could throw off the the ABS sensors that tell the ABS motor to assist in braking. But one inch larger in diameter couldn't be that bad. And even H&A sells the 17'' Silverstars as optional rims for the 7th gen Accord.

Though they do say this:

For safety and warranty reasons all accessories are only sold for the years and models listed. Installing any item on another year or model is not recommended, may be dangerous and will void any warranty coverage.
So 17'' Silverstars aren't dangerous but the 17'' TL rims might be and will void the warranty???

It's cool

But I'm still lost as to why H&A states one 17'' Acura rim is ok for the Accord and another 17'' Acura rim isn't. The weight difference between them isn't that drastic.

Honda and/or H&A probably thinks the TL rims are too wide for the Accord. But the Accord and TL sit on the same basic car platform. Oh well, as long as your car's safety/handling isn't sacrificed and the dealership you go to doesn't care, it should be ok .

those are really sweet wheels. i think they look better than like 99% of aftermarket wheels out there. i just don't get why everyone loves a nice lip. there's this one dude w/ those wheels on a new RL, pretty damn sharp.
one question, will they fit on our cars?
