OwAce gets dropped on D2's

Well to start things off Owace, Darrell and Me put his coilovers on today. It was a long trial and error process we also got the Ingalls camber kit installed too. Keep in mind this was our first time doing a coilover setup and it took us about a good 5 1/2 hours because we worked at pace and didn't rush anything and also Owace's car was toying with us throughout the night but overall it wasn't a bad process and can't wait till mine com in so I can do it all over again. Here are a few pics not many of the car afterwards cause we finished at around 1:30am so yeah no daylight but will post some up when we goto OC Car Show.

they are awesome, had them on my maxima and imo better than teins. How much do they run for the accord? I remember getting them from a group deal for around 1200 shipped. Looks great on the 7th gen! could be the way i go.

They've been appearing on Ebay every now and then for the past year or so like this one.

lol well first things first the before pic is a photochop of my car, so it isnt that lowered in the first pic (with the fence in the background).

the drop is now 1 finger gap all the way around. before the drop i could put my fist into the wheel gap.

the car rides a little stiff. i think though what i am going to do is adjust the damping another 1/4 turn down from full stiff.

i think also my spring rates are high 13:9 vs the 8:6 i requested.

in anycase ill let you guys know more once ive ridden on them more.

Looks good man. One thing tho is it me or in the pics above are you missing the jam nuts on your camber kit. If so what is holding the camber kit in place? Don't want to see you have an issue if they are missing. Peace

Looks great OwAce! Nice selection on wheels too. Did you notice immediate effects of the lighter wheels?

haha yes my dumbass definately didnt put the lock nuts in place for the camber kit. which meant i had to pay for an hour of labor at the alignment shop, cos they put it in..grr...

anyhow ingalls screwed up and gave me two right hand threaded screws for the camber kit, which meant i have camber kit and toe kit on one side, and only toe on the passenger side.

man i rode back today from ocean city and the ride is pretty darn awesome. me, driven, telele and hyeone (all from bwimports) rode with me in the car and said it was a nice smooth ride. i think the car behaves better with more weight in the car.

im thinking that i will most probbaly compress the springs by .1 inch in a weeks time to help with the car dropping treachearously in dips.

anyhow the ride is great awesome, and i can honestly say that its well worth the 850 i paid for these coilovers. however i am a noob to suspension and this is my first so i cant compare these to other rides.

I found this on their website:
Q: How come my coilover does not comes with Pillow-Ball Top Mount? If so can I get it?

A: There are two types of suspension setup. McPherson and Double A-Arm.

For McPherson (eg Nissan S15, WRX) designed to have adjustable angle function, when the vehicle turns, the suspension turns along with it and thus it must use Pillow Ball Top mount along with it.

For Double A-arm, (eg Honda Civic & Integra) the angle of the suspension does not move when the car turns. Therefore even with a pillow ball top mount, it does not serve the design purpose of the PTM. It became an expansive decoration which serves no purpose. Therefore for Double A-Arm, our suspension comes with Aluminium top mount.

This seems kind of odd to me. Doesn't the A-arm move in a slight arc? Wouldn't the strut need to be able to accomodate for this slight side to side movement as the A-arm moves in an arc? Or is it just so negligible that they don't care?

hmmm

really i dont know how to answer this question. what i can answer however is HOW our suspension works. if anyone wants the answer to that i can post up a long detailed explanations of camber and toe changes during increased forces during driving, and the effects of lowering and raising an accord.
