To Gold or NOT to GOLD

So some of yo may know one of my rims got pnwd and now im getting them repaired/repainted.

Gonna go with gold and polished lip.

Currently they are HYPER BLACK.

im thinking about going with either a darker/deeper gold or a lighter/brighter gold. both will have a polish lip ust not sure which would look best.

Which one you like best?

LIGHT/ BRIGHT

DARK/DEEPER

If you guys have suggestions please let me know.

i thought if bronze but bronze really only looks goo with the ful wheel painted bronze. such as fn01rc. those would look hot but with polished lip and bronze spokes, nto sure if it will look right.

the brass color is the only gold they have. i looked at a few other websites and that was all i found on other websites as well. they told me they can blend other powders into it to make it lighter etc but thats is the "base" gold they will be using.

im going to see if they can add some yellow into it or white to see what it looks like.

what do you guys think?

its powdercoated. i told my guy to add 2 layers of clearcoat on them and it came out really really awesome.

down here in houston it cost approx 75 a wheel, considering i had to take apart the 3 pc wheel myself

oh btw, the color in the first picture the wheels came out really dark for some reason. in person its not that rich

i guess its about the same. the guy is charging me 125 to repair all damages, mount and balance, and primer, base clear.

do you know how he got the sungold? did he just shoot it straight or did he mix the color? can you ask if they used brass as a base and then mixed it with one of their yellows?

also, how do yours compare with STI gold? i want it like yours but not as rich. can you take more pictures?

what do you think of that brass color? its hard to tell but it looks like it need a hint of yellow in it but just a smidge.

sun gold was a color that they had in stock and i fell in love with the sample color that they showed me.

personally bronze is too dark for me.

bronze is too dark.

Black on black is getting played out for me. im going for a more contrast look. Also gonna take off the tinted tails and go with all red LED tails.

i think black on gold looks goooooooood. lol i mean every one has their own style so im always going to get a mixed response and different POV which is good gives me more idea

but anyways, i think i am going to go sti gold or something close to sun gold.

so the shop shot me some of their gold... here it is ... the lighting is not very good so color doesnt look like it really should... i think there was more gold look in it in person but i need to go back to make sure. some of the pics it looks a little washed out and the gold doesnt look very gold. also, this gold has some metal flakes in it so it might make it seem lighter in pics than in person and depending on the angle and lighting that you are looking at it in. i cant remember now if it looked like that in person but i know that when i saw it, i was satisfied with the color and told the guy that color would be perfect. now that i look at the pictures, it looks a little different so i need to check it out again.

tell me what you think...

im thining about this color too (courtesy of joe). it is called sungold. only problem is that this color will cost me an extra 90 bucks because its a color they dont stock and is more expensive than other colors. (there is a price increase on the tiger drylac site (powder supplier))
