Redline v6 5at

So I've noticed that my 5at will shift at 6750 in first and then never passed 6500 in any other gear. Why is this.?

If I floor it in first it'll go all the way to 6750 before shifting into second. When doing the same thing in second gear it will only go to 6500, at which point it shifts.

Could this possibly have anything to do with the "91 octane +10hp +10tq" thing?

Our gears slip at a much slower rate than they should, so the command is sent to shift before the engine is cut, 1st gear just has a high enough torque ratio that the intertia of the engine at that last moment before throttle cut is applied much more than in a higher gear like 2nd.

Personally mine "shifts" at 7200 on a regular basis in 1st at full tilt. And by shift i mean cut tps/fuel/etc not actually reengaging at 7200. It usually drops a bit below 5k before engaging fuel/etc again.

I may be thinking 3rd gear about that 5k mark though, going into 2nd at 5500 May be what actually happens, but my car is ported to keep the rpm high. 6900 sounds normal 68-69.

You can always manually upshift, definitely makes a difference on the 2-3 if you shift a tick before redline, carries speed into 3rd gear better.

ive found thats pretty much all perceptual. The shift actually starts as soon as your shifter leaves 2nd gear, and just goes into neutral while you shift to 3rd. It does allow you to adjust your shift rpm, but if your engine is modified for highrpm tq/hp won't aid in speed.
