Window Guards aka Rain Guards review

There are 2 main Styles that i am aware of:

1. OEM style - Tinted (can see through), this makes a difference

2. Mugen style - cannot see through & Mugen style Tinted (can see through like above pic)

i've used both styles and these are my main issues i hope anyone else getting either style (OEM/Mugen) & (Tinted/blacked out) can look out for:

1. the 3M tape they come with, 1 out of 4 will eventually have issues and they could potentially even fly off at higher speeds. You can see how thin the Tape that comes with it vs. buying 3M Tape from Home Depot. I would recommend getting the 20lbs. outdoor which is around $20 bucks for a big roll if you can find the bigger roll

2. I would recommend the Tinted ones over the cannot see through version. The blacked out version is nicer looking from the inside but Tinted ones still allow sight during turns and such

hope this helps and post/PM anytime if you have additional questions, concerns, etc.

Nice write-up !

I will add that I have seen it recommended to use "3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter 06396" with the tape to help them stick better. There are wipes available on Amazon for $2-$3 each.

I have another type - Weathertech in-channel which don't use tape. I have had them fall out and break and now am on my 2nd set. I might try tape ones next time.
