Intake Manifolds

Left Side: ZDX Right Side: Stock

Bottom: ZDX Top: Stock

Left Side: Stock Right Side: ZDX

Stock Intake Manifold with TB off

ZDX Intake Manifold with TB off

Intake Manifold removed

Everything reinstalled

You will need to transfer the studs off old Intake Mani unless you bought new ones here is a picture of the double nut method on removing it.

You will also need to transfer these to studs

On the ZDX manifold there is a little hose connector. Not sure what its called. You will need to cover this thing up or you will get a nice hissing noise. I just use some fish tank tube and seal the other end off.

I have a Auto. I dont have a tube to go there. I went to Adv. Auto and picked up "Rubber Vacuum caps". Fish tank hose was only temp solution til I got to the auto parts store. It was a PITA to remove it.

I would recommend it remove Oil Catch Can.This type of mode can't be installed on V6 Accord.First of all that not PCV connection.
The way you connect You may experience a decrease in performance
Also i would recommend it ,make some research what difference between MT and auto on ZDX Manifold.

Probably would explain why I haven't seen the oil catch can catch 1 drop of oil lol.

You connect hose on proximate location PCV valve on 2002 Accord.
PCV valve on 2008-2010 V6 Accord located on the front ,next to oil cap and its look like plastic plug.
We dont have output nipple for hose connection, like older accord.PCV Valve should be replaced every 60,000 miles

I would take precaution High air pressure inside intake manifold may leak and give Cell (check engine) make sure its secure.

did you change spark plugs?
you may need 12290-R40-A02 SPARK PLUG (SXU22HCR11S) (DENSO)

Hey quick question on your MOD. After you installed it all did you have to adjust your ECU because of the Intake manifold and TB where changed from a 3.5L to 3.7L ?

Nope Just unplug the battery and plug it back in. Then let the ECU relearn.

spart plugs

The spark plugs 12290-R40-A02 (SXU22HCR11S) (DENSO)
you are talking about I couldn't find them. Auto zone and pep boys don't have them. where did you get them.

Also you are running a dual nitrous system, and with the engine MOD you have done don't you have to get some special nitrous spark plugs because of the igniting pressure when you hit the nitrous?

please let me know. thanx

Engine Mod

I have a couple questions to ask. I hope you can help me.

1. Have you had any problems with your car regarding the Modifications you have done. I've gone the same rout as you have and installed it all with the Zex 82021 EFI wet universal nitrous system, dual purge kit, bottle heater, blow down kit, digital level gauge.

2. I have purchased a Intake manifold and TB from a 2012 Acura TL 3.7L (SHAWD) from Acura dealer, with both IM & TB spacers from throwdown performance, ported and polished the TB & IM to fit the spacers and gaskets and changed the spark plugs from the OEM to denso 1 step down colder plugs. I also relocated the Mass air flow sensor and Breathing hole from its original place to right before the bend on the Intake pipe due to the location for the nitrous port it needs to be at least 6 inches away from the TB.

Now I'm done with the IM & TB & re-wedding the Mass air flow and breathing hole on the Air intake pipe.

I started the car up and it would not level out on the RPMs it kept on turning of even when I pushed on the gas pedal.

I want to know if you have experienced anything like this and hopefully you can help me to where I went wrong.

Thanks,

only time I had issue like that was when I forgot to hook a hose back up to the Intake manifold. Same problem you described RPM jump and car would die. Made a loud hissing noise though so i was able to find the leak.

Thnx for the info, when i checked everything i saw that they did the welding on the intake they welded it the wrong way and the mass air sensor was backwards. I fixed.

I have another question what did u do to the IM cover from the 2012 acura TL that it has a butterfly inside of it and the actuator assy; bypass valve.

What do you do with the butterfly and the bypass vavle because I installed everything and I can hear hissing from the bypass valve. Should I take them both out?

I suppose it might be a little bit taller but not very much. I have one from the TL-SHAWD. It's pretty much the same, just bigger.
