I just got back from Taiwan. Whenever I'm there or in the Far East somewhere I'm always amazed at how much nicer the Asian market Toyotas and Hondas are than their American equivalents. The Lexus and Acura brands are not nearly as prevalent there, so they go all out on the Accords and Camrys which are marketed as up-market cars. We still don't even get a friggin D4 notch on the shifter for the Accord, let alone a SportShift mode or anything. Even HYUNDAI and everybody else in the sedan segments gives you that now, except Honda. Sad.

I woder if someone has a connection over there that could get me the service manual, I have a few friends around here that could translate so I cound see what would have to be done to retro our accords to get at least the sport shift and paddle feature.

microphones for hands free calling probably.
center rear is panel is probably a factory subwoofer
and the bar near the rear windshield is a motorized visor like in the benz and bmw here.

^^^ i wonder what other countries say when they purchase their accord and go wtf!??! 20k for basic model?

I'm almost wondering if it would be cheaper to import the car from usa then to purchase a new accord in foreign country.

Asia/Europe/Japan always gets a nicer version simply because there isn't a luxury brand like Acura. But even so, that's just branding, where American's are lead to believe that Acura lineups are luxury cars.

They're all Honda's in the end, and the parts are to a large degree interchangeable. The turn-signal mirrors will probably be made available on ebay/yahoo auctions from one source or another, beit China, JDM, or maybe even an Special Edition model in the US.

The one problem I do have is with American Honda and their design decisions. The upcoming Pilot, 8th gen Accords front-end, and Ridgline share a similar boxy design that I can't stand. It's as if American Honda wants to break off from the continuity of the JDM line-up. This problem, I believe, stems from their thinking that Americans, Europeans, and Asians have different design tastes. While this may be true to some extent, all three regions are quite heterogeneous in race, with a very broad spectrum of tastes. Honda should answer the calling by offering a broader spectrum of designs/options for which the consumer to choose from. This could be achieved by offering more Modulo and Mugen parts through Honda Access or HFP.

There are Hondas in Japan that we'll never get to see here in the US, which I think are beautifully designed and look better than the upcoming Acura's. The STREAM, ELYSION, STEP WAGON look great. The redesigned FIT has a better looking frontend than the new Accord.

NicePeta: You don't have to worry about the Asian Accord looking better! Your Accord beats them all

I really like the center console trim... I wonder if it's interchangeable with that of the US coupe.

When I arrive to kuwait in 5 July I will check for you the price for the mirrors (In Kuwait they are installed as a standard option), and if you are soo interested I can ship them to USA.

Does it not have side curtain airbags? I do prefer the bluetooth handsfree controls on the steering wheel like on USDM Accords. The rear sunshade is nice. We already get rear subwoofers in all leather models. I also like the red hazard switch.
