Why a 08 V6 Sedan over a 07 Camry SE?

Im looking at a new sedan hard...I narrowed it down to a 2007 TL-S, 07 Camry SE, or a 08 Accord V6 sedan...

I dont know wtf to buy..alot of pros and cons with them all..

I like the accord for the quality, the nav, and all the reviews i read on it beating the Camry except for the drag times...

Talk to me people!

I'd get the TL-S.

TL-S is not even the same league. if you can afford it, obviously get the TL-S.

They're all good cars. I wouldn't buy it just because the magazines love it though. The magazine editors are all Honda fanboys and even when the Camry literally kicks the Accord's ass they still find lame reasons to give the Accord the win. It's honestly pretty stupid. Car & Driver is by far the worst of these.

I'd go with an 08 Accord over the Camry just because I can't sit in the back seat of the Camry because of how the front seatbacks end up arching right into my knee area (I'm tall) and because of the stupid footwell design in back. But then the 08 Accord is a TANK and is so friggin long that it won't even fit in my garage with my storage racks up. I need my storage racks far more than I need a titanic sized sedan (the 08 accord is as long as a Toyota Avalon!) Another car to consider is the Nissan Altima, which is actually Consumer Report's top pick believe it or not. I didn't want one of those though because first year Nissans have been horrible lately. Heck, even Toyota has been having trouble with their first year cars lately. Honda had lots of trouble with the 03 Accord, so we'll see how things are with the 08, but not for awhile yet. Too soon to tell.

Anyways, I ended up with a RAV4 V6.

The TL-S is nice, but that much power through FWD is stupid. For hardly any more money you can get a BMW 528i which is a far nicer car, albeit slower. But it's RWD and will handle way better, and is a ton sexier. Everybody has a TL.

Agreed, you have to 1st figure out your budget, because if you can afford a TL-S then you can afford a whole lot of good sedans that are out there now, like a slightly used 335. Also, there is a new TL-S coming out this year or early next year - I know the new TSX just came out and it looks really bad. Honestly, I don't think the new TL will look much better.

However, personally if I had to pick between the Camry and Accord, it really boils down to looks and feel, both car are virtually the same to an average user; good power, quality, fuel efficient and so on. But the new Camry looks like a big turd if you ask me, no for real ;-) Every edge and corner is so smooth...The Accord has some style and class with some sharp lines in it...But then again I'm a biased user ;-)

Good Luck!

I know after the relaiability issues that Toyota has had with the V6's in the camry, I wouldnt own one. Consummer Reports has also dropped it from the recommended list due to that as well. I would definately pick up the TL-S if you can swing it then the Accord.

Like SteVTEC said, the '08 Accord sedan is just WAY too big and I am always a little leery of drastic first year model changes. I think the Camry SE (only the SE, though) is one of the better looking sedans on the market. I saw an all black one w/ tinted windows and nice rims on it drive by me the other day and WOW did it look sharp! But like stated above, the V6 Camry models have been pretty problematic* so if you must have a V6, I'd think long and hard about that one. Also, sadly, Toyota's quality seems to have dropped a little over the years.

*If you go to Edmunds.com and read the consumer reviews, you will read drivers listing problem after problem.

I'd look into Acuras or slightly used other models if it were me. If you must buy new and the only choice is Accord or Camry, I'd go w/ the Camry SE; I'd rather have a nice, smaller, sporty-looking sedan over a big boring boat.

While I like the new Accord it is a little too big for me. If you can swing it, go for the TL-S, but the Camry SE-V6 is pretty nice too. I would not mind having one

Take the coupe over the TL... camry's not even in the game.

The coupe and Tl both share 107" wheel base, but the coupe comes in at more than 100lbs lighter. The coupe is wider stance and more rounded exterior, and makes for a better platform if your choice is performance and not luxury

Actually, if the G8 wasn't a Pontiac, I would consider it too so it's all good.

I do love Accord's but I'd rather get a new Camry. They're faster and will last 300-400k miles easily.

Go for the Accord.

I almost bought an 07 Camry last year and I'm glad I didn't. My parents bought an 08 AV6 a few months back and it's a way nicer car. Material quality, interior design, the driving experience is all one step up.

And the 08 AV6 was nicer than the TL's I've driven too.

All this coming from the guy that owns two Toyotas...blasphemy!

Uh, not new. I got $5000 off the sticker, and still payed $30K after the gap insurance, extended 7 year warrenty, and taxes.

BTW, the Camry walks on V6 Accords, and 3.5 Altimas, but even after intake, exhaust/j pipe, I got beat by a G37 today.
