Any Known problem for 8th Gen Accord?

The 6th and 7th were known for their trasmission failure, what about the 8th? I am comparing Accord and Camry now, seems like camry has a common transmission failure in the current generation.

^There is an entire thread in the 7th and I believe 6th generation as stickies.

I peeked into the engine bay of an auto v6 and didn't see the "baya" or "maya" carved on the tranny but something else I can't remember now. So perhaps these two bad b*thces are gone. However, rumor has it that it was the firmware upload to a few cars (as a "product update", as Honda calls them) that caused the issue but they never admitted it.

If your truly worried, just purchase an extended warranty....

that's if you plan on keeping the car more than 3 years.

Besides, most Honda places are pretty good about fixing tranny problems, unless
you abused the car.

Case in point, a local Honda dealership friend of mine was telling me a story
about this one guy who followed the maintenance schedule for his Accord,
and was timely about his maintenance at the dealership. He reached 104k, 5 years
old car, dealer fixed the tranny at no cost because of loyalty.

Now will every dealership do this? Maybe... but I'd stick to an Accord IMO.

I just bought a 2009 coupe ex-l v6, no nav. I take delivery in a month. I'm so excited I hope I'll last through the wait. God I hope there are no transmission issues, I just got rid of a 2002 Passat and that tranny had major issues
