I am a bit skeptical about the + horsepower quoted. Having used both AEM and K&N on my 03 v6, other than a nice sound, it didn't make a huge difference. I can only imagine on the '08, that has a more restrictive power module in terms of gas consumption, that without tuning this gadget won't make a difference.

I think it's probably good that you're skeptical about the stated hp/tq gains - anytime it comes from a manufacturer and not a 3rd party independent tester, I would be skeptical as well. Just basing this off of CAI's that I have purchased for my other cars and then seeing dyno's of real world gains.

Too many variables to make that broad of a statement. They might have designed the intake system really well from the factory (like they did with the 7th gen) and the gains could be minimal as a result.

My main point, however, was that you should be skeptical whenver a manufacturer throws out hp/tq gains w/out looking at third party dynos. I know there are a lot of variables, but for example with the RSX-S, when the V2 came out, they were stating gains of 18whp. When people dynoed, it came in around 10whp on average. That's a pretty significant difference, don't you think?

I do notice as well alot of misquoted gains from Intake and Exhaust co. They are usually inflated. Look at K&N for example on the GT500 stang. They quote a 50HP gain with their Intake. We all know how BS that gain report is. I figure the CAI on our Accord V6's probobly gives between 7-10WHP depending on Conditions.

Manufacturers always claim higher hp #'s then real world #'s. Thats how they get you to buy their products. Someone mentioned above, but the ads on v6p show k&n claiming 50hp on a mustang! None the less, it doesn't stop anyone from buying it. Especially since they got the first movers advantage

you would be surprise on what a simple intake modification can do. I have before and after dyno sheets of many cars that we modified just the intake system alone and seeing over 30whp gains. It's trrue its usually force induction cars, but also big displacement motors yield high gains from a simple mod like that aswell. it just depends on the setup, not particularly a specific intake company. CFM does miracles to vehicles that are gasping for air.
