New RonJon Bodykit for the 8G Accord Coupe...

We are makin g the 8G Accord Coupe kit as shown. It will be from ABS Plastic and all the info is shown here:
http://www.ronjonwheels.com/8g_accord_coupe_kit.html

Here's the projected schedule:

- get the car potentially the week after Christmas sometime.
- Jan 19th, return car.
- Feb 9th, need the car back for test fitment of production run
- Feb 27th, return car with kit painted and completely installed.

Whole problem now is that we NEED an accord coupe in the Nuevo California area, contact me for detailsl exactly where. Zip is 92567, so if your close to there, that would be good. A full painted kit installed on the donor car is part of the donor car deal.
And we decided that we have to make the rear a 3 piece deal, like in the pictures because the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder will have different exhasut openings. This kit is relatively inexpensive compared to the urethane kit we were planning on previously.

So this is pretty much it, I'm gonna be so excited. I'm flyin out to Cali from NY right as the prototype is being wrapped up to sign off on it.

As far as preorders, we will have an initial run of 25 kits, and those will be discounted as part of the GB, so please contact me to place the pre-order to get the special pricing.

And here are the images we will go by:
and more info:

Yeah, I remember that one. Fortunately, this time around, the amount of interest for this 8th Gen coupe kit is 10x more than it was for the 7th Gen kit. Not to point any fingers, but I'm glad we never made that kit or I'd be stuck with a bunch of kits that would put my company in a hole. At the end of the day, we are not going to support a dead market. There is a reason there is not much available regarding the 7G Accord when it comes to aero parts.

the reason why is that Honda designed a nice HFP lip kit that has set a standard for aftermarket developers.

What makes "RAW ABS plastic" better than urethane for body pieces?

ummm I was on the same topic as him.

I say that because alot of people want a low front lip or bumper replacement so that they dont have to lower their car because the kit or lip makes it look lower.

Are you and Icy serious?

Who the in the world buys a front lip to make their car look "lower"? LMFAO!

People buy these things to change the appearance of their car and look more aggressive or appealing.

well, there are some things that make it better, like affordability, it costs less to produce because the process requires a once sided mold with vacuum forming and heated ABS plastic sheets. It is a little more rigid, like between fiberglass and Urethane. Almost the same as the factory pieces.
Downside is the application, there can't be any factory mounting points for full front bumpers, etc. So limitations with design. but this is an add on style, so we can pull it off. Urethane tends to expand and contract creating funky reflections in the paint, where ABS is more consistent and rigid, so it looks more similar to factory panels.

Yes and people ALSO buy these things to change the appearance of their car to look lower.

Good effort though.

Not to crack on your pricing but $1k isnt affordable for ABS plastic body pieces. Wings West kits are urethane and are hundreds cheaper than that. After seeing all these ABS plastic mugen lips sell for cheap on ebay, this is a big step for abs plastic.

Also I have yet to experience the "funky reflections" in my painted pieces. I think that all depends on your painter.

The expanding and contracting is what makes the pieces more durable. ABS plastic is too brittle.

What do I know though. We still got people paying $1k+ for JDM fiberglass pieces.

GL and show the sedans some love! You know kids get these cars as hand me downs from mommy and daddy. The market will always be there.

Oh. Stupid me.

So people put spoilers on their cars to look higher? I get it now. I always though it was because it made it look nicer or sportier. Again, stupid me.

Looking foward to the kit, loved the photoshopped pics when I first swa them and still do, but the chrome/polished wheels look better with the other chrome stuff as opposed to the time attack wheels that stand out.

As for the other BS discussion you guys are both right people do buy these for aesthics be it style or height, putting lips and spoilers on draws your eyes across the car differently.

Not too sure about the ABS plastic just because of its durability being inferior to urethane.
