So it's been almost 8 years since Ive called this board my home....what's new??

Hello one and all. I had a 6spd AV6 coupe back in 2004 and used to post here quite a bit with some (at the time) pretty awesome 1/4 mile runs and other musings. I've been through probably a half dozen cars since then and now but I'm in the market again possibly for a '12 AV6-6spd so I thought I'd dust off my screen name, say hello and read up on the new AV6-6spd. So in the words of a certain Dodge Neon commercial from the mid-90s, "Hi".

Cammyfive i am just looking at ur sig and wanting to know how did u get ur av6 6speed to hit 14.2 stock!?! LOL And i love those body m5's beautiful car. A new 6 speed accord would be nice but for that type of money alot of better used German cars for that price as i am pretty sure you know that right.

Those are some OLD commercials. It's cool that you still had a screenname from all those years ago! The new coupes are bomb

Thanks, fellas! Wow, I didn't realize how old my signature was! My old 6spd was stock and honestly those results were after consistent track practice. It was totally normal for me to make close to 75-100 passes per weekend at that track so with practice came perfect, so to speak. As for my old M5, I only had it a short while. I always wanted one and bought one not understanding the maintenance costs associated with that vehicle, not to mention insurance in my early to mid 20s. Awesome car and still the fastest I've ever owned personally.

Currrntly I'm looking to lease a car in 2-3 months so the two top contenders right now are an AV6-6 coupe and a VW Jetta GLI Autonahn DSG. Two different cars I realize but in a lease price structure they are within pennies of one another.

Indeed but at my age/position in life the only "mods" I would possibly be interested in would be a K&N drop in filter and synthetic oil.

Hmm a big turbo-4 sedan with a fancy auto trans and poor man's audi styling vs a big coupe with a stout v6, manual trans and poor man's aston styling..lol. If costs are similar it seems the accord coupe would be the better looking and better performing car. Also more reliable. You know those germans.
