On-dash GPS

im trying to mount mine in the best possible place. any ideas/pictures would be appreciated!

I just got the Magellan maestro4000. I mounted it with the suction cup mount if came with. Its attached to the lower left hand corner of the windshield..

i have a pretty bulky one. its the garmin street pilot III. i was thinking of making a support to put it in the left corner of the dash.

if it can't go in the cubby hole...i suggest on the lower left corner of the windshield as someone suggested earlier. easy to see, not very obstructive, close enough to reach up and hit buttons, etc.

^^You wouldnt realize how handy they are unless you have one. I have a difficult time going to larger cities ive never been to or hardly been to, and knowing how to get to different areas. Before I used google map, but now all the functions plus more are at a touch away.

Mine shows mph, it will show gas stations, resteraunts, etc..

Basically the only time I'll really use it is on vacations..

anyone have pics of the mounting place, i too need a good location for maximum reception/looks/access

i was thinking about mounting it on the driver side vent using this gadget:



but then the cig adapter wouldn't reach?

you can always splice the wire to the cig lighter. serious, if you know the diff between pos and negative thats all it really is
