help

need some help, so i just got a new sub for my car got a 12" arc flatine dual 4, and i'm getting a arc ks1000 amp next weekend. but for now i have it hooked up to a old amp i had lying around. its a audiobahn 4002T. the sub is wired for 8 ohms. this is until i get the new amp. well it was working fine for about 2 weeks and then it dies. the audiobahn amp is in protection mode. i figured its because its clipping, and it doesnt have enough power for the sub, so i kinda saw that one coming, but the other problem is now my components are not working either. I have alpine type-s components powered by a phoenix gold 2 channel amp. The amp isn't in protection mode, and its not even lighting up. What could be causing this?

You need to pull out a digital multimeter and set it to ohms. Read the resistance at the speaker inputs on the amps. While you're there, you can check for dc voltage too.
