*new vid of my sub is up*

i decided to make another vid of my sub, the first vid was right when i got it installed and it was still pretty stiff.. that and also it was running off my oem deck

now after about almost two months, they have definatly losened up and hit noticably harder, espeically after i installed the pioneer 880prs deck yesterday... nothing crazyy or insane so dont expect much
its running off a hifonics class A/B amp @ 325watts... but im sure its alittle less than
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg3dkOkCljw

pics of the hu i just got installed

edit: heres part of the raw vid from the vid i posted up yesterday.. this shows the trunk closed and it rattling, but i cut it short cause of the imaging

^^
ive held down the license plate and it isnt the one making the noise, its just the trunk overall, if i put some weight on my trunk with the palm of my hand, the rattling reduces to like 70%... the licesne actually is fine and barely adds any rattling noise.. besides i dont see how i can roll around town with no front or rear license plate

mainly the camera drowning it out
if i use some of the preset EQs from the deck like "Super Bass" it'll drown out the my front stage speakers
but i customized the eq so that i can get everything to blend as cleanly as possible w stock 6.5s speakers

and also, just got these taken a few hours ago... im turning into a pic/vid whore lol

and the best one saved for last... blurry pic ftl haha

you can always take something like double sided tape, and stick it to the plate so the bottom (where theres no screws) doesnt vibrate.

all those idea's are good ideas but really the license plate doesnt make any rattling nosies at all... its hard to believe, i know but for some reason my license plate isnt the cause of the rattling... its just my entire trunk that viberates lol, if i was to either put my palm on the trunk and apply alittle pressure the rattling would reduce by like 70%... i bet if i sat on my trunk there would be no rattling at all haha

dynmat, brown bread or any other sound deadening for the trunk =), that's if you want to get rid of most of the rattles from the trunk.

I like my Alpine CDA-9835 cuz of the amazing things I can do. Has built in crossover for frequency cutoffs... Front/Rear/Sub, Time Correction (for sound staging), and full parametric EQ. I have stock speakers all around and a 12" MB Quart sub... and it sounds like I have aftermarket interior sound with an amplifier and I don't.

yea the 880 has all of that plus some extras.. if you check caraudio.com theres at least 20 thread comparisons with the 880 vs cda-9835 vs X-890

it seems like the majority of the people there has a thing for the 880... i only picked this up because i got such a great deal on it
http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=215257

one thing that is nice about the 880 is that it has Auto EQ/ Time Alignment
the hu comes with this speical mic that you place on the driver's headrest... set it to test mode and for 5mins the hu does tests to give you a baseline of where to start

ive got stock 6.5s and tweeters as well and after installing the hu the output and SQ is amazing... my front stage needs to be upgraded now because my sub stage can easliy drone out my front stage with bass heavy songs

i cant wait to go 3way active with this hu in the future

have you pulled the counter weight out?

that thing made some REALLY loud noises with my subs. (like a hammer whacking the trunk)

also, tighten your trunk latch, weatherstip all around the trunk (you should really have to slam it to get it to latch)

remove rear speakers, make sure rear window tail light is not loose, flip down back seat, ect.

but once you have loud enough subs, you can't stop the rattling

your vid makes my sub look like a pu$$y hahaha, hows the 3000db? ive heard there a bit overrated but the price on on PA's are nicee
what kind of front stage do you have?

also whats the counter weight your referring too?

i always roll around with my rear seats down, but i yea i need to tighten my 3rd brake light cover... the thing is starting to rattle more and more

i just put some cardboard around the clips to hold the 3rd brake in tighter.

counter weight (i think that's what it is) would be near the front of the underside of the trunk lid:

there's a plastic cover you just pull off and that's underneath.

you can see it's suspended with some kind of rubber, but if there's too much vibration it bottoms out.

there's about a million things in our trunk that will rattle. the rear deck is really bad though.

and my system started ripping bolts out of the sheet metal (in th rear deck)

BUT

my subs are now gone and i just shipped out the amp as well.

the amp was a beast, and i only had it set to about 1600w. but it was killing my alt/battery.

i used the money to buy me wheels

EDIT: i have pioneer rev 6.5's in the doors.

they are the BEST coaxials for the money!

are you serious, you got rid of your system? are you planning on getting a different setup?
im done with car audio for alittle bit... at least until i get some other stuff done with my car first

ive been looking at the rev series for awhile now and i think im going to be getting a set in the future... but it'll be running off the hu's amp

yep it's gone. giving me too many headaches, and trunk rattles were too annoying.

since october i didn't have a working amp for more than two weeks at a time!

i paid well over $200 shipping back and forth but at least all failures were covered under warranty.

also, without a new alt our cars really can't handle that much current draw. i had HUGE dimming issues.

if i ever get a hatchback or suv i'll probably want subs again.

get the rev's! you won't be disappointed. even off HU power they'll sound great and get loud.

hey fyi what i did to stop most/all the rattling in the trunk without any dynamat or anything that cost money at all was that i took the hook that the trunk latches on to, loosened it and moved it down just a lil bit. it just takes a lil more pressure to close that trunk and it dips down barely but a quick and easy way to get better sound
